What did you do to your TJ today?

I thought I was ordering the Grand Cherokee heavy duty steering but got RT OFF-ROAD HEAVY DUTY STEERING KIT WITH HD STEERING STABILIZER instead. Installed and took the Jeep for a ride and I’m all over the road. Scary all over the road so tomorrow I will be swapping back to original factory steering setup and test ride again. And I did such a pretty job.

Finished changing out my worn out RE control arms with MetalCloak aluminum double adjustable uppers and lowers.

Sure wish the shop that installed my arms wouldn't have talked me out of the double adjustable uppers. Might have to bite the bullet one day and upgrade to those. Seems after the initial install I had tons of corrections to make, and then tummy tucking started that all over again.

That’s exactly why I went that way. When I did my skid I raised my TC up a little and changed my pinion angle, I fought my old single uppers to correct it. So much easier with these.

I actually just sold my hardtop since I much prefer the jeep with the top off / simplicity of putting the soft top down. I also prefer the look of my garage without a hardtop hanging from the ceiling.

Took the LJ for a rip with the top off, first time this summer.

Started playing with my Cj draw bar. Trying to get it to bolt to my Tj/Cj bumper with bumperettes. Trying to be difficult. Got too hot and had to quit plus had therapy today. As Scarlet says, ‘Tomorra’ is another day’a.’

Drove mine to Jackon and back today with the top and doors off for the first time. About an hour drive each way. With all the rain from that tropical storm, I needed to air it and the shop out.

Worked on the $100 Dana 44. The night I picked it up vs this afternoon’s cutting, grinding, and blending.
Even when I stop using the grinding disc as I get close to flush with the tube and start using a blending disc, I can never clean the welds and meet the tube as clean as I “think” it should be with out it having a “rippling” effect on the tubes. I find it very annoying.

Then the UCF Ultra high clearance skid plate. If finished up this portion with a new set of M/T 15x8 rims.

My Rockhard4x4 Freedom Edition Stubby bumper finally got here! Still need to spool my winch rope back on but I’m loving the new looks!

Wow that looks great. I'm assuming that's the carbon steel 3/16" thick version, how much does it weigh compared to stock? Also, did you have to do any other modifications besides SYE and body lift, like anything to the exhaust?

Love it. Thats my next move unless I find a LJR. What suspension lift do you have? Stock driveshaft or SYE/aftermarket driveshaft?

What’s this axle going in?
Have you used a flap disk? It doesn’t remove as much material.

Got out for a ride this morning. That heat wave that is affecting so many areas is hitting us now so we went out early when it was still pretty cool. Cruised through the town that I grew up in for a little memory lane action. Before anyone grows concerned, the Jeep's not up to temp in this pic cause we just started our journey. Stay cool and safe.
