Should I do a 1.5" lift or 3" lift?

Do you think I should do 1.5 inches or 3 inches not to high since I don’t want to go thru that wobble trouble. Any recommendations on what to do besides lift kit?

What do you want the jeep to do for you that it isn't doing now? Do you just want it to look good on the street, want to cruise on the beach, crawl rocks, mud bog, etc? You just want bigger tires and a lift to make it look good? Find some pictures online of what you want it to look like and post them up here.

Also, what kind of budget do you have? Jeep mods can get expensive quick, but there are also budget ways to get what you want too.

Generally if you go to big of a tire with too little lift you will end up with less travel and a rougher ride that you are probably accustom to coming from the lowered car world.

If you're going for looks a 2-inch lift/1.25 body lift with 33s would look great. I would look at a 10.5 inch wide tire over a 12.5 since they are better on the highway. As @xxdabroxx is pointing out though it is best to have a direction. Search through some of the build threads on the forum for some inspiration.

Here is a great kit being sold on the forums.

There are countless ways to modify and customize Jeeps and this is a site full of many members who off road. My best advice to you is to is to drive it like it is (aka stock) for now. We need to know if you are going for an aggressive off road look or if you actually like to offroad. You can open up a can of worms real quick with a Jeep if you go with a big lift without knowing what else is involved to still have a safe, reliable, and nice riding jeep.

Here's some light reading:

You already posted in this sub-forum, but start looking through the build threads to get an idea of what you want yours to look like. Most will also list what has been done, and probably show steps/pics of the process.

I was on ebay and I saw this rough country suspension, any thoughts about the brand and performance?

For just looks it’ll be fine, it may not ride or drive super great.

Do you have a budget or goal? I don’t see a comment above on it.

You could just throw on Rancho Shocks with the coil spacers and be all in under 300. There’s also the zone lift that many speak fairly well of.

Depends on how high you are going. Most would suggest going with something better if you are replacing control arms. Some are happy with RC products.

The Zone lifts are pretty highly regarded for their cost. Generally until you spend a good bit of money you are best off keeping the stock control arms. You should also stay under 3" of suspension lift to avoid having to change driveshaft and converting to a SYE kit.
