Power being shut off to California

I hear you, but it doesn’t make sense to me because how do they have a number figure for “registered guns” in states where gun registries are illegal? How can you have a registered gun, when it’s illegal/ you’re unable to register a gun in a given state?

Basically what I’m trying to get at is either registered guns can not exist in Florida and that is a completely made up number OR it’s based solely on gun sales which will be higher than most other states simply because they don’t have any surrounding states (besides Georgia) where guns could easily come from a personal sale.

So really, turning off the power is the only option left.

they could start burying the lines. they do it in some parts of the north so that ice storms dont knock down power lines. but then that takes money, and the holes they dig would cause some sort of harm to Californians sensitive nature ideology.

That’s actually part of the rebuilding plan for Paradise (Camp Fire).

Here in Florida we have tropical storms and Hurricanes which blow down trees power lines etc. The Northeast gets ice storms which takes down power lines. I wish we were smart enough to make the investment of under ground power lines and be done with constant rebuild outages etc......

In all new areas of the city the power lines are buried. In the older parts of town they are above ground all the way to the houses. So when storms knock out power it's to limited areas.

The power has been out to my house for a total of 2 hours in the last 15 years with 1-1/2 hours being the longest last year. It probably helps that several neighbors of mine work for the local utility scheduling line repair trucks and substation work.

We did have an ice/wind storm pull down 50 miles of high voltage line once. But rain/ice/snow and wind pulling down power lines doesn't start fires.

The big power lines aren't practical to bury. 13 kV, 300kV, 500kV, 750kV are just too much voltage to insulate. So we still have a large power line coming into the neighborhoods feeding the underground lines and individual house transformers in boxes on the ground.

Its been windy ass hell here, we had to harvest are marijuana plants, rein in the unicorn, got stocked up on burritos from the taco truck; and the power went off !

By the sound of it, you did more than just harvest the plants :ROFLMAO:

The only issue with that is there are only two states with more guns than CA, Texas and Florida. That is according to registered gun data and we all know that the number of registered guns is far less than actual numbers.
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha! That's because guns have to be registered in communist countries like Commieforia so they can track then and confiscate at will. There are unknown numbers owned in free areas where the United States Constitution is followed and you are free to own buy and sell firearms as a free thinking US citizen.

They are some negative aspects of underground power. It’s great for about 15-25 years. And then when it’ starts to have problems it’s not a quick cut the tree out of the way pull new lines and reconnect. It’s work all day trying to find where it went to ground and heavy equipment digging holes. And if the power company doesn’t still keep the surface cut clear anyway. Then it will take a day or so for a tree cutting company to clear it out before you can get an excavator in their to dig.

If they have to be registered, then why aren't mine? The only point was that there are a lot of firearms in CA. There are even a lot of unregistered firearms in CA. This would be a lot more fun if what there was some parity between knowledge and understanding.

This whole mess is a tough row to hoe for certain but some of the folks yammering for buried power lines should spend a few minutes on the Rubicon and use that to understand that 100's of miles of the trenching would be through solid rock.

Sorry, only pistols and scarry guns that libs like calling a salt rifles (like you can make a rifle out of salt....) or any gun that you bring with you when you move to the state by filling out form BOA 4010A. Oh yea, and don't forget to apply for the certificate of eligibility to possess a firearm. Nope. No infringement going on there. No sir.

Not to worry though. If our governor has his way he will try his best to out liberal all of Hollywood. Sad state of affairs eveywhere.

Well as the OP our power is still on as of now, my cabin electrical has been turned off though. If you don't see me posting later tonight you will know we are without Power :(
