Why are so many oppose to putting a jack on the hood?

You may consider it middle of the road but to other guys like Mad Scientist you're a god among men for doing that water crossing.

By the way if you ever go through water deeper than your airbox intake, you can flip the hood open and have a buddy lay on top of the engine to blow air into the tube.
After reading that it made me realize I was very glad I'm not your buddy.

I can just hear me asking my wife to get out it looks like another deep water crossing...

False, it wasn't the best water crossing I have seen. Far from it... This is slightly more impressive. I noticed that I managed to turn this almost hateful thread bashing others into a funny and good thread with reverse psychology, while humbling humans who needed it... Looks like it worked. Keep this forum positive and helpful for everyone instead of thinking in a "pack group" of what others think... You will be amazed in some of the people you can meet. Instead of turning this back into a bash thread, lets keep it funny. Have a good day everyone, I mean it. The world runs off of energy.

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” “The scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite insane.”

You didn't manage to do anything but make yourself look ridiculous.

Nobody was bashing on anybody until you showed up.

Some people like snorkels and hi-lift jacks and some people don't... And what you did was uncalled for and it doesn't need to happen on here again or we will ask Chris to help you find another forum.

Also notice " supporting member" on all of these... That's another way of saying put your money where your mouth is.

Dude you picked the wrong guy this morning....for starters you should have found someone that was saying something negative about the subject .

And to put yourself on the level with channeling Blaine... That's a form of identity theft I've never heard of.

And nobody got humbled.. because nobody needed humbled.. but I do see some serious pride in your statements so back at you.

Most boards who have no opposition to some of the more vulgar vulgarities out there, call that a serious case of backpedaling.

People shouldn't discount other peoples experiences for the simple fact that, You are not them... Your experiences are not necessarily the same as others. I have personally used and seen numerous others use hi-lift jacks on the trail for anything from lifting a tire off the ground to re-seat a bead, to using the jack handle as a sleeve to trail fix a broken tie rod. Safety is the key.

It is stupid to discount a tools functionality based on the possibility it can be used inaccurately. You CAN get injured by ANY tool if you're not using it correctly or using it beyond the limits that it is designed for. Hi-lift jacks are as safe as the person maintaining and using them.

There is a tool for everything,, (ok maybe not everything) and there are tools designed to be useful over a wide variety of tasks. The hi-lift can be used for multiple tasks so long as you use it the way in which it was designed to be used with the proper attachments, and safety practices.
Yep, that’s why I said “I think.”

I made no moral judgement.

But you did.

“ People shouldn't discount other peoples experiences...”

Please explain to me how this, “ People shouldn't discount other peoples experiences...” is exacting moral judgement.
Saying, "I think" does not mean you weren't passing judgment, as a matter of fact you were passing judgment on my own personal experiences. You were discounting my experience without directly calling me out. "I think" that's pretty chicken____!

Out of curiosity, and because I stir my coffee with an oar, what does everyone think about this solution to carrying tools?

it doesn't work for me because like the jack, I have a better place to store mine.

This is a better solution.

😂
To be fair, ARB stuff in general is usually great quality here in Australia (good reputation). They're considered the market leader/standard here.

Oh I'm not trashing the name it's just that there are too many cheaper, safer and better ways to accomplish the same thing. Plus, chicks don't dig it.😆😆

Yeah I gotcha man. ARB will charge you. They're not shy with that. Marketing is expensive! Haha.

The smart ones try to avoid the ARB route if there's something better/cheaper. There usually is but much like there, there's a market here that's happy to surrender their wallet and be done with it.

Same type of consumer behaviour shit as observed there I'm presuming?

And yes, chicks dig the TJ here too.

Yeah, pretty much the same type of behavior. Now as far as chicks liking TJs that is a different story. TJs are just fun and I never heard of a female wanted a ride in a Prius.😆😆
