What did you do to your TJ today?

Installed GenRight’s rear bumper plate along with Bestop’s tire carrier. For the price well worth the purchase on the tire carrier.

I really like the lines you made by coming slightly forward on the fenders curve down. Love to see more pictures once you're all finished (y)
Will do. Those pix are crappy, but at least I remembered.
I'm really bad about taking taking pictures of steps, my wife get's on me for home "before and afters" all the time.

This is exactly why I prefer to do my own work if at all possible. No one to blame but myself then.
Took my TJ in to a local shop to have the axle seals replaced. Well, if you remember the old AAMCO commercial with the kid squirting the hose while saying he always wanted to fix a trans-mish-e-on, I think I found him... This is what was waiting for me the morning after picking up my Jeep:

WTF...?! Time to learn about my axles... I learned pulling the carrier with a small ratchet strap works well. I’m pretty sure the axle seals aren’t supposed to voluntarily follow the carrier:

The newly arrived Dana 44 seals look a tad different too:

Suspicion confirmed when the shop owner didn’t present a bill.

It's not an easy job finding a shop you can trust with the repairs you don't want to tackle on your own.

Came across another good deal on some used parts. I sold a set of tires this morning for $140, offered this guy $180 and ended up with a BNIB Warn gas tank skid. Almost everything on my TJ was bought secondhand, refurbished and then installed. Hopefully I can get this and my new Barnes skid plate bolted up this weekend.

Stereo System Upgrade Update:

Completed
Phase I: Replaced rear pod stock 5.25" speakers with a pair of Sony XS-R1646 6.5" speakers.
Phase II: Replaced the dash corner stock 4" speakers with a pair of Sony XS-R4646 4x6" speakers.

Phase III: Replacing the Kenwood KMM-BT322U head unit (Bluetooth quit working) with a Sony DSX-B700. As the Sony is a double DIN unit and the Kenwood single DIN, I'm replacing the center dash cover as well. I've already painted the new one to match the old one. Next step is splicing and soldering the harness adapters togther.

Just the speaker change has resulted in a very much improved sound with lots of clarity. I'm not really expecting a lot more improvement with the headunit swap, but apparently Kenwood bluetooth has a known issue with iPhones. Works good for bit, then decides to ignore the iPhone. Sony is supposed to work better with iPhone. Tennessee is supposed to be hammering down on folks driving while holding the phone. I don't need one of those tickets. At least that's the excuse I'm using for the upgrade.

Got the broken plastic indoor passenger latch replaced and the outside replaced but I need to adjust the linkage on my driver side exterior door latch. I’m having to really pull hard to open but the interior works easily.
