Anyone have an opinion on the Goodyear Wrangler Authority tires?

I tried to buy a set of those for my old XJ and the local Walmart refused to install any size tire that didn't come stock on the vehicle. You might want to ask them about that before you buy them in case you have to bring them somewhere else to get installed.
What size did you want them to put on ?

Says on website, no tread wear warranty.
Yeah I just read it and it says you can buy a road hazard warranty for $10 per tire and will cover repairable punctures at no charge and it says that you have to talk to them about any tire conditions that require tire replacement. So it doesn’t really say if they will replace your tire if it gets a nail in the side wall it just says you have to call and ask about it. So that’s kind crappy.

So I recently went to Walmart and saw these all terrain tires made by Goodyear and they are called the wrangler authority. They actually have a really good looking tread pattern and I’ve read people who have had them on there Tacoma’s that highly recommend this tire because it is very affordable. I just wanted to check and see if anyone has used this tire on a Jeep and how they handle and last. Thanks

Did you ever end up getting these? Curious how they're working out for you.

I've got a set of 31 10.50x15's on my 01 sport. This tire is the walmart Duratrac I believe. Its a decent tire for the money, low noise handles well good fraction. I like if well enough that I am considering buying 265 16's for my 03 ruby moabs

As near as I can tell the Authority is a Wal-Mart exclusive equivalent to the Duratrac. And the Duratrac is a very good aggressive AT for my local conditions. My truck is on its second set.

Good to know, thank you guys!

RE noise, tire noise doesn't bother me at all. Don't even notice it other than making me turn up the volume of the stereo. As far as Im concerned if a person wants or needs an aggressive tire then they better just get over their sensitivity to road noise. Open tread blocks equal some road noise. That said Duratracs start out pretty quiet and get louder with wear. Same as all aggressive tires except in the matter of degree.

I ended up going this route namely because the local Walmart is around the corner and I know the auto guys really well. Also, this is not my daily driver. The installer ( and only one there I trust) has been installing tires for 15 years. He and I were able to talk thru the install on my new flat black ProComp wheels.

All 4 went on perfect. One needed a bunch of weight but the others only needed between 1 and 4 stick on weights. They will be replacing that tire when the 5th comes in

I haven't driven on them yet because the Jeep is on stands awaiting my completion of rear brakes, suspension and diff fluid change. However, there is a review of a guy w a Tacoma that got 56k out of them that I based my purchase on.

Once I'm ready to drive this thing, I will provide my reviewView attachment 138073
What size tire is this? Rim looks bigger to me than 15” but maybe it just looks that way.

Goodyear is a good brand but how will you be using them there in Tennessee? All Terrain tires are terrible/horrible/grief-causing in mud since an all-terrain tread pattern easily packs full of mud which turns them into a slick when in mud. For dry trails, rocks, etc. all-terrain tires are fine.

i tend to agree with you on most things BUT i have these tires on my 06 Rubicon and i pulled my cousins 2500 chevy turamax which happen to be.. loaded with scrap out of the mud and me tell you it was slicker than snot. after i got him out then i hooked on to his dump trailer that was also loaded with scrap out. 2nd gear low range both axles locked. i would purchase these tires again wear good work well in snow rain mud everything. but alas they are only available now in load range E.

Yep. The Duratrac/Authority has more of a MT tread pattern than other ATs.

They definitely look good! I look forward to hearing how you feel about them after some use.
