'98 Sahara build: "Staying the Course"

@taat3, here's what I bought. Cheapest price I could find, and it included the bolts, as well.

Thanks Squatch, I appreciate it. I'm not a big wrencher and not sure which way to go with this and was thankful to find this site along with your thread. Have to replace my floor supports and mounts to keep my jeep going. Had some frame work done a few years back and continue to tell everyone " they're gonna bury me in my jeep" lol. Original owner for 21 yrs now and want to keep my baby going.I'm enjoying the thread, have to go back and pick up where I left off to see what else you got going on but when you get this done you're gonna enjoy it for a long time, hell, your granddaughter will probably enjoy it when she gets her license. Thanks for sharing this adventure.

I'm so far behind schedule with this little project, that it's embarrassing. It was all supposed to be "upgrades" in the beginning, but the reality of what I had actually purchased bit me squarely in the ass. I need to do a ton of repairs before the upgrades can finally happen. Oh well...such is life! ;) But thanks for the kind words, my friend. That's right nice of ya!

We'll have to connect here sometime on a weekend. Can't get more local for me than Everett!

Was back on track with the TJ for a bit, and then ended up having to rebuild the suspension (front and rear) on my Lincoln. Now I'm involved with helping a widow friend of mine get her Honda back on the road (apparently, the Honda K24A2 engine has a history of eating exhaust cams, and hers is no different).

Looking forward to getting back to working on my garage queen! ;)

Spent some time out in the garage today. Here are the results...

Just a reminder why I did it...;)

I obviously still have a long way to go, but I'm feeling pretty good about the way it's going. Spent about four hours doing what I enjoy. That always makes for a good day! (y)
i now know who will be supervising me whenever i get around to relocating my rear spring pearchs

Great to see you've gotten some work done on the TJ, @Squatch I picked up something a couple months ago today made me think of you. 1978 GMC motorhome. It's got the drivetrain from a Tornado in it, with a 403 engine. Oldest vehicle I've ever worked on... We nearly shared the same birthday (it's a month younger than me)

Yeah, I read that you had picked that up. I've always thought those were extremely classy rides. In fact, after reading one of your posts about it, I did some research on the 403. I was aware of them, but knew little about them. Pretty short production run on those engines (I was pretty surprised by that). Also was unaware that they had both a big-block and small-block version of that displacement.

Finally acquired a version of the Currie V-bumper that I've been lusting after ever since I saw the one @dla has. This is the one that @Jaime313 bought, and learned that it was actually the prototype to the production version (via dialog with Travis at Currie). It's slightly different than the production version, but I'm good with that. I admit that I like it even more than I thought I would, as it looks better in person than in pictures. Yes, I would still buy a production version if one became available, but this one is pretty damn cool. A big "Thank you" to @Jaime313 for giving me the opportunity to buy this!

Does this mean you're going to start working on your TJ again?

Comes in at 38 lbs. It's actually lighter than I thought it would be. (y)

That is not bad at all. It looks like it will serve your needs well.

How are you holding up over there in these crazy times? Stay safe and healthy my friend.

Does that mean you are going to start working on your Jeep again? :)
It's Latin for "The good Lord willing". My grandmother used to say "Lord willing, and the creek don't rise". ;)
I'm actually getting rid of a couple of project cars to allow me more time (and space) to work on the TJ. My buddy has agreed to buy them, and the plan was for them to be gone in early April. However, this whole virus thing may delay that. I've acquired even more stuff for the TJ, but I quit posting about such things. A fellow forum member has actually seen my yard and been in my garage. I'll protect his true identity, and we'll just call him "Bob". He is the only one other than myself who truly knows how bad off I am!

So, to answer your question, yes, I fully intend to keep on keepin' on!
