I'm in ohio so it's a fair drive from here. Could be me, you, @Mike_H , and @IPerkWVU caravanning from the Midwest.

Yeah let's look into doing that, it would be fun to head out in a large group! I know initially my friend Jacob, who is coming in his 1990 YJ, and I were thinking about trying to get to Moab in two days, we're looking at getting there on the 24th and resting on the 25th when everyone else gets there. We had the crazy idea of driving on Friday around 16 ~ 18 hours, sleeping somewhere and then Saturday doing a 10ish hour drive. However nothing is set in stone and right now excitement is getting the best of both of us!

I'm going to try to get Jacob to join the forum so he can be in the conversation as well, even if he only has a YJ LOL! Been trying to get him in a TJ but he loves his YJs!

Two years ago we went to the Colorado Springs area. Left sometime after 4pm on July 4th, saw fireworks in Nebraska, arrived in CO springs for breakfast then hit the trails.

Last year going to Moab had a wedding in KC so drove straight through from there.

I think you'll have everyone in the caravan convinced to swap to diesel by the time you get to Moab. If you can get that baby diesel up to 30mpg you'll have approximately 3x the range of everyone else.

My goal is to get it tuned for 35mpg so I can get to Moab from Virginia with less than 4 fill-ups on my stock 15-gallon tank

However even 30mpg would only take just over 4 tanks to get there, so that wouldn't be terrible either! My other goal is to try to wheel the entire week on one tank of diesel as well!

If I'm driving the MH, I have a 50 Gallon tank, getting 9-10 mpg...so every 400 miles or so, I'm gonna have to stop for fuel. Doesn't sound like the wife wants to come though, so I may just get a wild hair and drive the Wrangler. Then I'd be tenting it and pushing hard to get there as quickly as possible.

I'll be leaving from Nashville, TN. I'd love to caravan to Utah. I'll be driving with my wife & two kids most likely. So I'll probably have to stop somewhere in-between and rent a hotel room at least once.

Last time I drove to Colorado, I stopped at a hotel parking lot and fell asleep in my car haha. 22hr drive there.

another question. whats the weather like in Utah at that time of year? is it worth bringing tubedoors?

Yes, I asked @Alex01 if he wanted to upload the Excel sheet to the first post.

That way I can download it and update it as well (if I need to), and the spreadsheet will be in Excel form, so people can easily download it on their phone, since I know the inline HTML table above is getting cut off on small screens.
Google sheets might save you a hell of lot of effort here

edit: you beat me too it. Didn’t read to the end!
