10% Off UCF (June 2020)

Anyone wanting to do a tummy tuck without a body lift should consider UCF's LOPRO mount + extra clearance skid plate. It's a great combo.

I believe that's what @starkey480 is running.

Me too. I was hesitant after reading about increased vibrations transferred to the cab with the LOPRO but decided I didn't care about that and went for it. There are no increased vibrations. I think a lot of people just don't install it correctly and have metal-on-metal contact. There's some grinding you have to do and I can see people not getting it right.

That's nice to hear. For those that don't want to do a body lift, it seems like a cool solution!

Same experience. Had to grind some metal on metal contact and while mine are slightly increased it’s not bad at all

Just curios where you had to grind. I had to use thinner mounting nuts where the LoPro mounts then grind off the 4 studs.
I had to grind off studs from the transmission mount that were hanging down and digging into the skid. I believe this is only an. Issue with the ultra high and lopro combo.

Forgot to ask, is yours the 1/4" or 3/8"?

If I recall correctly that was one of the steps in the instructions with my LOPRO, so I think you're right.

Thats my goal. I don’t plan on lifting the TJ more than it is and will do an SYE later this summer.

This is the one I am looking at UCF Skid
That is the one I bought. Here are my thoughts.

Pro's
* Very well built
* Very easy install
* No exhaust or any other mods
* Gained almost 2" of clearance
* Good price (especially with a discount code)

Con's
* Very heavy, weighs more than twice the aluminum version.
* 2" of clearance is good, 3-4" would have been great.

Bottom line, The steel "No Body Lift Skid" is a great deal and gives more clearance without any other supporting mods.
However, in hindsight, I wished I would have shelled out the extra cash for the aluminum and went with the "Extra" or "Ultra" clearance, or just went for the Savvy.
I ended up putting a body lift, SYE , DC driveshaft, and adjustable control arms. I could have gone with a higher skid since I ended up doing all the mods for it.
Do what is best for you, only you know what mods you do or don't plan on doing. in my situation I played it a little to conservatively.

I still like it a lot though.

He linked to the no body lift required skid but said he wants to run the extra clearance skid + LOPRO (that skid requires a body lift unless you run the LOPRO).

@Ephry73 If the link is correct, definitely you should consider getting the extra clearance skid instead, and there is no reason not to if you're getting the LOPRO to go along with it.

That is correct. Yes I meant to link the extra clearance unit. Must have copied the page when I was looking at the two for comparison.

The CONS on the no lift one are even good Pros

All great information on the post. I don't mind the added weight, since it is lower on the frame, but good to know on the aluminum. The stock unit is heavy and does nothing for clearance.

With the lopro mount and the extra high clearance I should be fine without a bodylift anyways, plus I have a 1"MML in a box in the garage, just in case.

My question is, metal to metal being equal, is the UCF skid lighter, or the same as the stock unit weight wise? I have stuff added to the cart, just waiting for me to get home.
