Lower Jeep interior temps

I have a roll of that heat insulation would it benifit to get spray adhesive and cover thebottom of the carpet with the heat insulation you think?

Absolutely, im am definitely considering to put it under the center console, but dont know if its durable enough to cover all foot area.
Over time carpet will be shifting around, fine sand/dirt will accumulate under the carpet and give it effect of a sand paper. My Jeep collects water in that area after rain or deep water crossings. Something to keep in mind

Does anybody know if bed tred is as good/bad as bed rug as far as heat transfer goes?

From what i have gathered, it is the same thing, fabric surface vs bedline like. Unfortunately they dont list thickness for the interior.
They do say their truck bed mats are 3/4" thick, it would be really sweet if that was the case for the interior

I'm also thinking of painting the top (only) of the outside of my hard top with white RV roof coating - similar to the white tops seen on school buses - the radiant heat coming in from the Florida sun is ginormous!

That definitely helps but school buses are just copying off pre-AC days. Why it took so long I will never know.

Maybe I should get off my tail and contact them directly. I really don't like carpet, but I also believe Jerry!

The exhaust was a noticeable change? I have wanted to get a exhaust done at a shop but always have a hard time justifying “just sound” in my head.
Lowered my under the hood temp and seemed to lower temp everywher. CEL finally cleared as well. Ancient catalytic converters run hotter than fresh ones. Better flow = lower temp. V-Twins guys experience this close up.

so what I’m gonna do (I’ll let you know how it works out over time) is use some heat shield under the entire carpet and everywhere under the Jeep. But I’m going to adhesive it to the carpet and put heavy duty Velcro to attatch the heat shield to the tub. To this way the heat shield will not slide around much and the carpet will be stuck to the heat shield with spray adhesive. This should then make a pretty good temperature barrier and also still be removable thanks to the Velcro strips that way I can still take out the carpet and heat shield easily to wash out the tub or clean the carpet.

I'm still noodling on what I want to do. I really want bed liner, but the heat transfer issue kind of rules that out here in Florida. I'm leaning towards bed tred and adding a little bit of heat insulation over the transmission tunnel and cats - I can't abide carpet in a truck/Jeep. Then adding "hot head" or similar to the underside of the hard top and painting the top of same white as I mentioned before. Noise doesn't concern me, in fact I rather enjoy the visceral experience.

Mine is bedlined right now. It’s nice to be able to spray it down. But seriously I can’t even drive barefoot it gets so hot it burns me.

Yea, that's the universal consensus and why I'm looking for a non-carpet alternative.

look up“go armor lite” they only make it for JK’s right now but said they might expand into TJ’s but if I remember Correctly that’s exactly what you want.

I'm not crazy about the carpet in the jeep either. Specially where I live where mold grows like crazy.

I am going to be using this heat shield on the underside on the front and back side of the catalytic converter shield to see if it helps with the temps. Sealed with some aluminum tape for more moisture resistance. Once the engine warms up it should dry it up well.

No doubt it has properties to reflect heat which is useful in certain application..., but what is the point of it when it is 100+ degrees outside, roughly 200 in your engine compartment, and asphalt is probably in 150 digits... see where im going with this?

I tried this

I tried this the only thing it does is make it take longer to get hot. Still gets just as hot just takes longer.

I keep dismissing the idea of placing insulator on the firewall from the engine side due to it being unreachable to clean there... but the more i look at it, the more doable it looks. Just a brush with a long handle, 30 minutes of scrubbing and surface should be clean enough for adhesion.

There is enough space to get in there and insulate everything along the red line in the picture.
Doing so will reflect a lot of heat from the area above the carpet line in the picture below coming through into the cabin.

Part of me wants to take the whole dash out again, and just insulate it from the inside. Its not a long process, and as you can see, there is a lot can be covered from inside. Damn, more i think about, more i regret not doing it when i had everything out.

I used Noico on the tub of my Jeep as well as installing the heaviest mass-backed carpet I could get. I also added a second layer to the heat shields underneath-the one over the cat and the one over the muffler. I insulated the trans tunnel as well as the center console. These all made a huge difference in my comfort level. The firewall is now the biggest heat culprit-haven't the time to pull the dash to insulate the firewall, but it's on the list.

if I ever take my dash out I’ll be sure to do it. But don’t see my dash coming out anytime soon
