What did you do to your TJ today?

Installed new correct length Core 4x4 T4 rear track bar. First one they sent was for 6+ lift and was about 1/2" or more too long. They apologized and quickly sent a replacement. Rear axle is now centered and nothing is rubbing including my exhaust. Jacked up the front and inspected and tightened all bolts and checked my front u joints for play and damage. Something is making creaking noise under load in 4x4 but no signs of slop or damage to the joint. Still worried it might have some damaged rollers in there from turning tight and stressing the joints. The u joints only have a 500 or so miles on them, but I have new ones if they continue to make noise or exhibit signs of failure. Washered out my steering stops to limit the extreme angles, ears are making light contact at lock in both directions. Two washers each side stopped the contact. Should be ready to wheel this weekend. I still need to start the fun job of replacing deteriorating wire loom. Most of mine is turning to powder. Next up I want to replace the Rough Country adjustable control arms. I can see the bushings wearing, and they don't flex well.

Took off the hardtop and put on a rugged ridge eclipse sun shade cover.

Today I test drove the TJ after installing a new clutch & related parts, I decided to roll video to capture anything that might happen, good or bad. I had a scare at first, after reassembling everything I was having trouble with the tc linkage & it ended up getting jammed then one of the arms popped off & I wasn't sure if it was in 2-hi, 4 or neutral, so when I initially started it & didn't go anywhere I wasn't sure if it was the tc or the clutch. Got out & banged the linkage back together & played around with the shifter for a minute & got it working again then stuck it in 2-hi.

This video is the maiden voyage around the block, it's terrible because I was holding the phone but captures the TJ being quiet as a mouse & shifting beautifully, very happy. The horrendous screeching sound that was bellowing out of the clutch/bearing(s) is gone baby gone

Pulled the driver side axle to really get a look at the u joint. The creaking coming from that corner in 4x4 concerns me. After getting the axle out, the joint us smooth, no binding even when you spin it with the axle at an angle. I decided to replace it anyway since I have a new one on hand. My snap ring pliers broke. Guess I am wheeling with it the way it is this weekend. Its probably fine anyway, just worry about it after breaking a joint and destroying an axle a few months back.

New tire day! Actually got them Monday but finally got them put on tonight.
265/75r16 Pro Comp MT2 Xtremes...They measure right at 32".
I've only driven about 30 miles back home on them but wow, such a smooth ride! My old worn Baja Claws we're pretty bad. I can't wait to get these dirty!

Took a drive up around the area West of Glenwood Springs Colorado with the roof and doors off, started sprinkling a bit but otherwise pleasant out.

This is my area...I was just up there last weekend....looks like Main Elk/Flat Tops. I get up in there several times a year.
Took a ride up to Adams Lake and got rained out. There's some pretty rough stuff to get into up there.
Let me know if your back in the area again.

im actually in the area until maybe Thursday or Friday. Your spot on with flat tops, main & west elk. I’m staying in town up towards the end of East elk with aunt/uncle. Bumped into 2 others on their way to Adams while we were bumping around west of there but was warned I’d be about the bare minimum of what could get through the area. I was mainly just dicking around about a hour away. It’s been raining quite a bit here but everything seems to dry up quick.
Im looking at making a run to Denver sometime soon to get some front sway disconnects or Currie antirock as I’d like to hit up imogene Or one of the other pass soon and had learned how “fun” it was without disconnecting them it was in Moab. I don’t come across anything in Michigans flat lands that requires sway disconnects so I wasn’t as prepared as I anticipated & id rather be prepared.

came across this abandoned guy on little box road a few days ago🤣
