This run has been cancelled since the trail is closed.

Me, my buddy (Silver Tacoma on Slick Rock) and his buddy (another Tacoma) are planning to run the Rubicon.

I will keep this first post updated with the latest information.

Dates:
Sept 18-20

Plan:
Start the trail from Loon Lake side 9AM on Friday. Get to Buck Island lake and camp there. Get to Rubicon Springs on Saturday (no rush) and camp there. Sunday finish the trail and get back home.

GPS Coordinates:

Going:
@Indy + 2 Jeeps + 3 Tacomas
@Thunderhead
@Gone-N-Done-It

I have updated the first post. Anyone wants to camp Thursday night on Tahoe side? Maybe park your tow rigs at the campsite?

The Con followed by Henness Pass the following weekend? Ambitious! I doubt I can pull both off.

I will have to think on this one. I do plan to run it this year but typically the weekends are a bit crowded for me. So I am a maybe for now. 🙂

@Indy I'm going to pass on this one and go on the midweek run, a few days later, @DrDmoney posted. I'm worried about the trail being overly crowded. Especially, now that everyone is flocking to the mountains.

Hey @Indy @bobthetj03 @Alex01 @DrDmoney

Its time for new tires, I have to go get an aliment at Les Swab this Thursday and was looking at the Maxxis Razr MT's ( 32's C load )
vs the same KO2's I currently have. I got about 50k out of these KO2's... they are about the same price point, KOs are 10 dollars cheaper. Decisions Decisions

I have no personal experience with the Maxxis nor know anyone with them but people online say they are loud. Also, you can't ask for much more than 50k from a set of tires and they haven't let you down on any of the runs.

Well, perhaps the snow run but that stuff was super deep.

Are you worried about gearing and 33's? You're set up for them now.
