What did you do to your TJ today?

Mammoth Boulders purchased from extremeterrain. I love them. 15x8 3.7” backspace. Tires are 33 12.50s

Just bought those in black for my black tj.

A bit dusty from the logging roads around 49deg North.

Had doors and windows off and left at home. Guess what happened? Tried to thread the needle of a fast moving downpour. This was a first. Fun!

When I got home my RL MTL has arrived.
I have to say, on the NV3550 I have to say the fill spot sucks!! Esp considering the size of the 1qt bottles.
Had to use one of those cheesy hand pumps.

In the picture below: is that a lot of crap? I don’t know. Wonder when the PO(s) did this last.

Getting caught in a downpour is something that happens now and again down here (sub-tropical) makes you feel alive haha

Not super exciting, but added some tweeters to the rig. Only drove it a few miles up and down the freeway, but I'm happy with the improvement. I just hooked them to the dash speakers and those are already being powered by an Alpine power pack amp.

Got some bolts to replace the broken exhaust flange studs. Installed my exhaust, and my skid plate. Took a short break and cleaned up my workspace. Started on lower control arms and found they are a lot easier than uppers. Got all four installed and adjusted. Had some dinner and went for a test drive. Now riding on Currie 4” springs and a full set of Savvy double adjustable arms.

I have to say this Jeep runs and drives almost 100% better than the day I bought it. Being my first TJ I had no point of reference but the catalytic converters and O2 sensors really woke it up. Drives straight and smooth now. Tonight was the first time I had it up to 80mph, and when I checked my speed against my phone I found an indicated 80 on the speedo is 85 gps. I need to adjust my Speedo healer but it was smooth and comfortable at speed. Also my tailpipe is touching the rear frame. I’ll pry on it some tomorrow.

Glad to be done with this bit. Lots of work. Next is the rad flush and new thermostat. Wheeling Saturday pending weather.

I received my delrin door hinge bushings today and went on installing them. Got the driver side upper bushing out easily, but that lower was a serious beast. Took 10min with a 29/64in drill bit to convince it to exit this world. Gonna hit the passenger side tomorrow. An aluminum bushing in a steel bore. Dissimilar metals corrosion is a nightmare!

I know what your saying I have the Derlin bushings for about a year now, I keep having a go getting the old ones out then give up and put it down the 'to do' list haha

Previously I replaced the idler pulley on the '01 TJ 4.0L and kept the factory one to rebuild.
Not sure how many members have done this, but I decided to replace the bearing and keep the rebuilt pulley as a spare.
Remove the long bolt and fender washer that holds the spacer to the pulley which then allows you to slide the spacer out of the pulley bearing. Then use a 30 mm or equivalent standard socket to press out the bearing with a vise. I chose 30 mm since it will allow clearance in the hole that the bearing is pressed into.
The bearing is a NTN 6203LU with a double seal made in Japan, but I found out that all the bearings that I could locate only sealed the bearing on one side instead of both sides.
I purchased a NTN 6203LLBC3 (PN 6L025) at Grainger for $7.15. I used scotch brite to clean up the surface that the bearing would be pressed into. Used the 30 mm socket and vise to press the bearing in and then reattach the bolt, fender washer and spacer.

Thanks for this info. For some reason I hadn't thrown my old idler out yet, so I ordered a bearing and will replace the shot one and keep the original idler as a spare. (y)

Wonder when that lube was changed last.

Fill it from the cabin next time. If you still have the original floor pans, just take the floor plug off and run the hose from there. no pump needed, but you have to make sure you keep an eye on it on the second one.

Can you unbolt that lift and throw it on back of that Rubi Gladiator so I can use it? I'll buy gas, beer and food. I still use a floor jack and 4x4" posts to install a BL. Life working on my Jeep standing up would be so much better. I bought a nice creeper and you can't use it because every time you have to use force to remove a bolt, the damn thing wheels around like a Go-cart.

come on boogie I've been there like everybody else I just started getting too old and it hurt too bad to work on the Jeep anymore on the concrete.
