Favorite movies?

The Green Mile
Goonies

As a kid I watched Mary Poppins a lot, and through my 2 year old I'm watching it a lot again :D

Good Will Hunting comes to mind.
Blazing Saddles (although I've heard the edited PC version is seven minutes long)

A lot of the previously mentioned - although I won't watch "The Green Mile" again. I've seen it twice, and both times it just DESTROYED me. Turned into a blubbering plate of jelly.

I like certain movies that are either "stupid" or "so bad its good". My wife *HATES* "Time Bandits" which is an all time fave. The entire Phantasm series, 1-5 - Horror isn't my usual genre, but these just stick with me for some reason. "Event Horizon" is another "so bad its good" AND Horror, but I like it too. "Queen of the Damned", etc, etc.

More mainstream: My wife and I both love all 3 of the Godfather movies. Even though we own the deluxe DVD set - if she's channel surfing and encounters one, she'll stop and watch it; and I'll finish up whatever I'm doing and sit down with her. I'm over "Star Wars", Jar-Jar Binks was the end of it for me. I do like all 5 (soon to be 6) "Jurassic Park" movies. "Star Trek" *REALLY* needs to just let go of the TOS episode "Space Seed" - they keep on returning to Kahn, and that was never my favorite TOS episode to start with. "The City on the Edge of Forever" had SO MUCH MORE potential than "Space Seed" ever did, but has never been revisited. "Goonies" is terrific!

"Stand by Me" is a movie that many people absolutely love - I don't care for it. I won't say its bad, but like "In and Out Burger", its just not particularly good. I just don't relate to the boys or their situation. *shrug*

I know this is an old thread but I got to know did @Squatch ever see Tombstone?
And as a reply to the thread...
1. Lonesome Dove
2. Coolhand Luke
3. Tombstone
4. Any western with Clint Eastwood
Still haven't seen it. You'd think that with all the positive reviews of that movie, I would have by now, but nope...not yet.
