Is this Teraflex lift a good lift kit?

If I've read correctly, you don't have to pay for a Dana 44. The front isn't an issue until you put in a locker, and put in a Super 35 kit in the rear, and that will handle even 35's no problem. I actually can get away with just the chromo rear axles with 35's probably for now until I do a full regear and S35.

I'd look up the threads on the Super35 for Dana 35 axle you have, probably save you money, my understanding if you're just going to 33's and not 35's you can just put in the Revolution Gear Chromo shafts like I did and be good. Unless you get trapped in the vortex I'm in:

Okay, if I'm going to regear, might as well put in a Super 35
If I've got it open, I might as well put in lockers
If I'm doing that, I might as well put in ARB so I have a built in compressor on the trail to air up after...

Oh, and better switches to turn on the compressor and lockers....fun stuff....
I can fall down that rabbit hole too man! Haha. I’ll look into that thread for sure.

As you can see from my Teraflex windshield decal in the below 17 year old photo, I was once a Teraflex crackhead. In the early days of the TJ there weren't many companies making products for it and Teraflex was one of the early providers. It wasn't long before I discovered just how shitty and overpriced their products are. It also seems they don't do a lot of testing of their products, they have problems later.

The fact that Tera kit is so overpriced and that they're still so clueless they are even including a dropped Pitman arm (causes steering geometry problems and bump steer) in that kit is typical for them.

This is the other kit I was looking at. Pretty much decided that it’ll be between this one or a complete savvy kit now that I know to avoid the Tera kits!

For that price I'd get the Currie suspension system. https://www.4lowparts.com/shop/tjlj-johnny-joint-4-suspension-system-w-sway-bar-disconnects/ and Rancho RS5000x shocks. That combination would perform well with an awesome highway ride with excellent offroad performance.

Not to mention that the owner of 4Low Parts.com, Ricky, is an ardent Jeep supporter and offroader just like us here.
With this kit too, would I need anything else to go with it? Just wanna double check. Thanks again!

From my understanding the TJ is too lite for the 9000, those are better suited to the JKU. I would stick with the 5000X, a ton of people run them (myself included) and love them. They are also cheaper and you could usually find a sale of buy 3 get one free.

Would you say the Rancho RS9000XL Shocks you can get with it are good? With this kit too, would I need anything else to go with it? Just wanna double check. Thanks again!
I am running that kit and I actually preferred the RS5000x shocks I was previously running to the RS9000x shocks I currently have. I only swapped out the RS5000x shocks for the RS9000x to get the adjustability for when I tow my trailer but that benefit didn't pan out. I wish I had kept my RS5000x shocks so I could go back to them. A set of RS5000x shocks is only something like $200.

Dana 30 front is not a bad axle and can definitely handle a locker no problem even with larger tires. From everything that I have seen from Jerry Bransford and other very knowledgeable folks, the Super 35 makes the Dana 35 basically as strong as a Stock Dana 44.

well, a stock Dana 44 with chromo's

The strength of the Super 35's shafts are in-between the strength of the stock Dana 44 and upgraded chromoly shafts. Stronger than the stock Dana 44 shafts but not as strong as 4340 alloy shafts. Super 35 30 spline shafts are made of 1541H heat treated steel.

Awesome! I will create my list of goodies to get. 🙂
I'd ask them to make your rear driveshaft with Spicer 5-1310x u-joints. I believe that u-joint to be a better and longer lasting u-joint. I've had Tom make me 5-6 driveshafts over the years and always specified Spicer u-joints rather than their house brand. :)

Good call.

I'm ending up "piecing"a mostly Savvy together just because it ended up that way. I've got the Savvy double adjustable CA's, just got my 4" Currie Springs (from Savvy website with the coupon code, ha) and haven't replaced the Rancho sagging springs yet, but I have a JB conversion SS SYE ordered (hopefully UPS starts running down there soon/Hurricane damage) and then a new Driveshaft. It spirals if you're going 4", and the PO skimped some, so I'm getting my components replaced and upgraded.

One other thing to look at is if you have stock rear axle shafts. I can tell you, with 33's we just pulled out of a parking space and the shaft twisted off on the pavement. My 16 year old at the time it was his TJ, he swears he wasn't popping the clutch, I believe him mostly, but the stock shafts can be an issue from my experience with 33's. I had to replace with Revolution Chromoly shafts.
Coupon code?

Ohhhh okay. Now I know (y)

Added to the list now. So we have a Currie suspension lift to order at 4lowparts.com
A SYE and CV drive shaft (w/ spicer 5-1310x u-joints) from 4xshaft.com
And Rancho 5000x Shocks! 😁😁😁

That will be a very nice setup when you're done, you'll never regret any of that... especially the Currie suspension and Tom Wood's driveshaft. Plus you get a cool decal with it! :ROFLMAO:
