I’m gonna be the test dummy for you guys on these. I’m sick of replacing balljoints. Ive been asking Josh for a set for at least a year now. I know I shouldn’t be running 37” tires on the weak outers but I’ve only ever had balljoint issues. It’s a CORE 44 housing so the inner C is much beefier than my old Rubi 44 housing was. I’m hoping these will Last a bit longer and when needing a “rebuild it seems to be quick and easy. I’ve got two friends running the superduty sets and like them a lot. Hopefully these are the last time I press anything into this axle. I’ll get some pictures up as soon as I receive them.

What other balljoints have you ran and how many miles you get out of them? Hydro assist?

I typically just run the Spicer balljoints. I even tried the Terraflex joints at one point. I do not run wheel spacers. I do have hydro assist. I’m running a 9” wide wheel with 3.5” backspace, I beat on the thing pretty hard out here in CO, UT. I don’t daily drive the thing so mileage isn’t how I judge as It’s only got 125k since new in 1999. I think I’ve gone through three sets in the last 6-7k miles but the trails I’ve started running in that time has really gotten rougher as well. I’m also probably more anal about preventative maintenance than most people as I don’t wait for problems to arise. And this last set has lasted longer than the last few sets and the only difference has been the hydro assist was added.

Just joined his FB group and asked him about old school Dana 30/44 deletes. Like his design WAY more than the ones I have right now. Will be watching for them to come out for my axle.

I ran 37's on my 2000 tj. no matter what brand of ball joint I tried, and i tried them all. I could only get 6-8k miles out of a set.
It was like clockwork every other oil change I would check and they were loose.
Oh, and braking sucked.
I did eventually go back to a 35" tire.

I've explained the ball joint problem to the folks that want JK axles over and over until I'm just done with it and they all tell me I'm full of it. No, but the guy whose rig I've put 3500 dollars worth of ball joints in is a bit tired of it.

so, I'm a little intrigued by these ball joint deletes. Are they safe for everyday street use as in a dd? and are they adjustable to compensate for out of spec camber?

Blaine, I believe we had this discussion years ago over on JF. We both spoke of XRF ball joints as a possible heavy duty replacement and not a solution for 37" tires.
I think we both tried them with not so great results.

I'm at like at like 7,000 miles on my rare parts balljoints + 37's. Spicer lasted me < 5K, we'll see how long these go and I'm definitely interested in the JK deletes looks about as easy to change a bearing as one could hope for. THe dynatracs looks like PITA and they charge a lot for the consumables.

We did try them and I was astounded at how poor they were and a tiny bit more so when I called XRF and was essentially told to pound sand. That whole experience left me shaking my head based on all the stellar reviews of those pieces of shit. And yes, not on 37's.

Well I got them installed. Got Josh all the measurements he needed and he is going to make a few changes and a small adjustment to part of the kit. Looks like it will be about two weeks until they will be available to the public. I know pre order is now open. I hope the work he has done and the help I was able to provide him helps us all in the long run.

Is this mainly a thing for people with huge tires, or is it a reasonable thing for anyone to use when their ball joints need replaced?
