Aftermarket equivalent to Rubicon flares

My Sahara flares are not painted-I believe the color is in the flare as well. The top pic is a scratch about 1/16" deep, and it's green all the way down to that level.

Also, someone said the flares aren't tough. The distortion on this flare is from the wheel flying off at 60 MPH on the way home from the Virginia State Safety inspection in July of 2019. The heat from the spinning tire caused the distortion plus the burnt rubber marks from the tire are probably permanent as I can't get it cleaned off.

I had success a few months back locating all 4 as individual part numbers thru various mopar outlets. tried for a long time to find as a set and no luck.

how do you measure them. Is on the top from the seam to the parallel distance to the farthest outward point? or is it on the underside from the seam to the inner most point

Located in Rosamond, CA. I've dealt with him personally in the past. Upstanding fellow. He has a pretty big property full of Jeeps and gets new inventory regularly. I'm sure he has some OEM Rubicon fender flares somewhere if you're looking to refurbish. Can't hurt to call and ask.

Matt tried to buy some red half doors from him. Thomas jerked him around and finally sold them out from under him.
I did an AW-4 swap for a guy. Needed some parts replaced, since all of our buddies were using Thomas, we sent him to SJ to get parts to replace the ones of mine I was using. SJ had them, agreed to ship after payment. Payment made, no parts. I get on my client's ass and he gets in touch with Thomas. Sorry, I've been carrying them around in the truck since there are no Post Offices where I live. I'll be at the Offroad Expo if you want to drive 50 miles to meet me and get them there. Sucks but whatever, goes and gets the parts.

Doing another trans swap, need the harness, SJ has it, wants paid up front. No problem, no other way to do business. I pay my helper to go out to the yard and pick up parts. Get the time sheet, there is 3 extra hours on it. WTF? Helper explains that he had to wait while they pulled the harness out of the vehicle. Whatever, we get our parts and get done.

Posts up a part out with a good interior and clean agate center console. I say I'll take it. No problem, sells it out from under me. I ask him to put me on the list for the next one. Says he will.

Couple months later, posts up another part out with an agate center console. I message him and ask if I am on the list. Sure, you can have this one. Send me an invoice, I'll pay it. Invoice comes, I pay immediately. 2 weeks go by and since I'm a bit wise to his fucking shenanigans, I send him a message and tell him to either ship the console or send me a refund and he goes ballistic and tells me I have no fucking right to talk to him that way.

Sorry Thomas, we know how you are, I need the part, you've jerked me around on a harness, you jerked Matt around, you jerked my client I sent to you around, I'm not in the mood to be jerked around, send the part or send me a refund.

We don't pull parts until they are paid for. Sorry T, check your files, you charged me long before my guy got there so I don't know what to tell you.

Well, everyone knows this in not my full time job, I get to stuff when I can.

Yeah, I'm okay with that as long as you say that up front and you don't. If you tell everyone that this is a hobby and you'll get to it when you get to it, that's one thing, but you don't and it causes problems.

I'm not selling to you, here's your fucking money back. That's fine.

So, I start doing a little survey of the shops I deal with and across the board when I asked them about SJ and if they bought from him I got the same exact answer. Yeah, we tried to, too hard to deal with, charges too much, never ships parts, kind of a dick to deal with. Oh, so it's not just me and everyone I know then? Nope


So while I do appreciate the reference, I won't be using him for parts unless he totally changes his business model.

So the smooth satin colored ones are painted too?

All OEM flares that are smooth are painted, period.

You clearly have some color blind issues. I can see the black plastic part of the flare from here. That and I know they are black under the paint.

Jeeezus. I've had problems getting ahold of him via email in the past but nothing like that. But, I've always just met him at his yard, walked backed to his shop, grabbed the part, and handed him his cash. I've never had to have items shipped.

Haha! Yes, that is probably true. It seems like green to me, and that scratch has been there for a long time. I guess if the paint was white I would see it better.
 
There is a guy in my area that says he has a set off a sahara, I'm waiting on measurements. They have what appears to be rhino lining on them. He wants 100.00 for them but won't ship. Once I can confirm the width as being 4.25, If your interested I can pick them up and ship them to you.
I find a lot of stuff on FB Marketplace.

Rhino would be a bit tough to deal with. I'm looking for a very clean set for the TJ-6. My local FBM hasn't had a set of flares in awhile. Take a look if you can and see what you think.
