I posted some pictures in the sticky for buying a used wrangler but thought it better to start a new thread. The LJ has spent its entire life in Tennessee but does have some rust and would like to get some opinions on if this would be a good buy or not.

Specs.
-2006 unlimited
-6spd manual trans
-153,000 miles
-3 owners (current owner has owned it since 2012)
-Hard and soft tops included

Compared to the "rust free" jeeps I've seen in PA, this one looks really clean. I bought my 05 LJ several years ago for similar money, and mine had 100K miles.

The owner has the carfax for it already printed out would it say on that? Its about 8 hours from me and I was thinking about driving down this weekend with a buddy to look a it.

Some rust? that's the funniest thing I've heard this week.

Seriously it looks like a pretty good Jeep, the only things I don't like are the sloped (or any) running boards, the trimmed fender flares, and the modified air intake.

I also wonder what these serrations are from. Since he's showing the Carfax it probably wasn't from something trying to grab the frame while straightening it out after a wreck.

My frame has those serrations as well

I thought the same thing about the nerf bars and the fender flares, they would be first to go. I have seen the serrations that your talking about on other jeeps not sure what they are tho.

That mileage wouldn't scare me. Of course, you need to look at what maintenance was done. Just keep in mind that you may have to replace the entire cooling system, along with gaskets seals, tune up, brakes, suspension, steering, etc. I'm not saying you have to replace them, but you should plan on it, from a budget perspective.

If you are not comfortable doing maintenance yourself, I wouldn't buy a 14 year old Jeep with 153k. They are dead simple to fix, so gaining some confidence to work on it yourself shouldn't be hard if you haven't worked on vehicles before. I've never had a ton of time to work on my Jeep, so unfortunately it has been in shops more than I care for, it adds up quick. But if you are comfortable working on it yourself, they are relatively cheap and easy to repair.

My Jeep was meticulously maintained throughout it's whole life. ~170k is when it started to need more attention. That isn't a hard and fast rule, just what I found with mine.
