Last 2 mornings.......

Jeep starts up about 30 seconds later check gauge light comes on, gauges don't engage. I turn it off then back on.... All good.

Anyone experience this?

My gauges were going nuts and the rear defroster switch would kill the engine. New ignition switch fixed the problem. About $14 for a Standard Electric brand.

and the ground, on the battery and the block and frame

X2. I'm not saying it is the battery for sure, but the first thing I would check when electronics are acting wonky is the battery itself as well as the connections (i.e. the grounds).

I was getting ready to check all that stuff when my neighbor with a YJ said, "Yep, my Jeep was once doing that too. It's your ignition switch." While I wasn't 100% prepared to believe him, that small sum of money to make what appeared to be five demons disappear had a very strong appeal.

I'd suspect the ignition switch as well, I'm just saying to check the battery first because it's free ;)

I went from scared, to baffled, to relieved.

It was a religious experience, and now I'm a zelloit!!! :p
