Oh the rain came with a vengeance yesterday morning and dropped about an inch and a half on us.

You know nothing of rain... LOL... between 12 and 20 inches in our area between the 5th and 10th of Nov...

And beautiful area you have there! I cannot wait till we are out of S. FL and can have seasons and hills again...

You have hills there. They're called on and off-ramps.🤫 I lived in Marathon Key when my ex-wife's dad owned a resort there. Nothing to do but fish and drink. Damn! I should have stayed with her. 🥳

Yes, overpasses, and bridges over the Intercoastal Waterway...

I'll be in Huntsville AL this weekend, but sadly not with Jeep, for son's birthday and property scouting. @AndyG , any neighborhoods you'd recommend looking at? I'll need a minimum of 1.5 acres, as we will need to build a granny-pod to house my wife's parents. I'm not afraid of $350k+ on property up there, but we'd like to stay within 30 minutes of Huntsville/RSA.

You're way out of my league money wise. I feed a stray cat here. 😾 My brother has all the money and builds houses for a major residential builder Stanley Martin on the east coast. Good luck with the move and stay safe.

Absolutely.

Are you talking to any Realtors just doing a little driving around.

Oh, up there I really wouldn't be in that "League", but we purchased down here at $270k when the market was starting to rise in 2012, and now we can sell close to $500k...

A little of both, my wife is a realtor down here, and will be able to get an AL licence easy, as they are reciprocal states. I'm just not too familiar. I see that east of Decatur just south of the river isn't too bad on price... just not familiar with it.

You need to look east of Huntsville on Highway 72....there is still some affordable property in the ryland area plus you've got a four-lane that takes you into town and puts you on the interstate exchange.

your next option is Lacey spring which is south of Huntsville but you have some rough areas around the river... Then you come up the mountain to Morgan City where I live... It's typical of the South you got nice areas and you got some areas that have been ruined.

Those are my first two suggestions.

want to avoid going east of town on Winchester Road because it's under construction and it's going to be a traffic boondoggle for a long time...north of town is pretty good at the same time you got heavy traffic morning and evenings

West of town is Madison and it is pretty well built out and another traffic boondoggle.

You won't be able to gauge this on a Saturday.

If you're going to be in town Sunday I'll be glad to come down Sunday after church and sit down with you at a restaurant in tell you a little bit about the area and how everything is laid out.

The only thing I've ever learned in life is to enjoy it. I took care of my healthy Mom when she got Alzheimer's and died within 5 years. I got the news a few days ago that my wife has Cancer. Life is life. You can't change it. Enjoy it.
