TJ Fest 2021 - Moab (April 24 – May 1, 2021)

I just got in my shifter which came in this past week. My adapter is finally being made this week, had delays on the adapter because of a delay on the new input shaft for my NP231 which was a measurement needed for said adapter. I might be able to have my TJ back together this month with a small possibility of getting driveshafts made at the end of January but more than likely I won't get driveshafts made until February now.

IF everything goes back together without any issues that would give me February, March and the beginning of April to make sure everything on my TJ is working for a 4000+ mile round trip to Moab. At this point I just don't know if I'll make it, I think if I have anymore delays I'll have to cancel, I need a few weeks to really test my rig before taking a drive that far.

Could always fly out and rent a Jeep if you can’t get it ready

Ain't you ever heard of faith? Drive it to the store and back, hitting as many curbs as possible, then crawl around underneath and look for bent shit and leaks. Don't find anything serious, then you're good to go!

OK, JK...you should def do a proper shake down but I really hope to see you there...it's gonna be EPIC!

I’ve thought about that or bringing my LJ out there but honestly I really want my first trip to Moab to be in a Jeep I built.

Oh I get that, the biggest issues with the LJ right now is it's in need of a clutch.

If we're being honest...I'm probably 50-50 at best right now. My wife and kids would be flying from Philadelphia to Denver while I trailer the Jeep. Since it appears the dreaded C word will still be a major issue then they will not make that trip. If I go at it alone I'm considering canceling the house I rented and either getting something much cheaper or camping.

Other than lack of meals and mixed drinks in first class, flying is great right now. Empty planes and competitive air fair.

I work in industrial safety with a respiratory specialty and my wife is a research scientist. No way she'd get on a plane in the near future. Possibility that we can make the drive as a family IF the kids are still virtual for school.

I’ve actually contemplated making this drive to Moab for TJ fest in the TJ. Not sure if that’s a great idea. How many days are you planning to take to drive there? I’m located not too far from you

Would you drive the TJ or trailer it?

Planned on 3 long days to Denver with overnight stops in Columbus area & KC. I would make a few sales calls on the way for work. Pick up with in Denver and stay will Sister in Law. Family, SIL & boyfriend then would come to Utah.
 
I am really trying to make this work. I didn't bust my arse to completely overhaul the Jeep and then bail. However, family comes first. I may end up coming out by myself. That might be good because 1) I could wheel more. 2) The pictures and stories would push my wife to want to go as well.

If TJ Fest begins on April 24, does that mean we’re running trails on the 24th? Or is that an arrival date where we might have a meet and greet, check out my bad ass TJ, et al?! 😎
