Apologies in advance for how long this is, there’s so much to possibly recommend. Beast in Black is pretty good if you’re looking for 80’s vibes with a legit singer. For power metal metal I’d look at Powerwolf or Sabaton.
Lamb of god is great if you like groove metal - their riffs are amazing. DÅÅTH is also great in that respect - super talented band overall.
If you want to dip into prog metal it’s not everybody’s taste but Dream Theater has some great songs and their instrumentals are crazy good.
Allegaeon is another great one - melodic/technical death metal. I’d recommend Proponent for Sentience.

Testament is actually and older band, the other stuff sounds like old Metallica .

I love heavy music and it seems the older I get the more I like it. I’m that grey haired guy you see at a concert and think, he must be lost. And damn you rona for getting all the concerts cancelled!

Havok and Warbringer are fantastic newer Thrash metal bands. I say newer because they’re about 10 years in. The new Lamb of God record is really good. More like the old days on this one.

Meliorist is another great band that is from Aussie. Very small but there newest album pattern is more mainstream but is unique.

Yeah, I really like them too. New album on the way this year or so they say. It can be a little weird trying to get into their stuff because each album is fairly different. I'd say try Nightmare and if you like that then branch out.
