Since I got my Jeep I had been trying to find a way to store everything I need and want to take on trips. I got it tuned in pretty good now so I thought I would share. (Yes I have a lot of colorful carabiners) also don’t mind my exposed hardtop wires. Trying to work on my rear defrost after wiring my Jeep for a hardtop

I was looking into the drawer at first and then I decided to go the shelf route. I just thought the shelf would be more useful day to day. I keep all my camping and recovery stuff in plastic bins so they fit in there perfect and I can move them from car to car easily. Plus now when i go to the grocery store I can fit 2x much groceries haha.

I just have a piece of carpet covered ply spanning the inside of the hard top the shipping to Australia is way too expensive for the rear tray although I would like one like yours, I can fit 2 decent sized pelican type cases under the shelf with ammo boxes each side and my fridge sits on the shelf.
I edged the sides of the shelf with "Pool Noodles" stronger than pipe lagging and it stops it sliding around, I can push it to the back of the front seats and pull it back to the rear bar, the boxes slide out on 2 pieces of inch and a half pvc pipe raised at the rear which gives me room for tools under the boxes, I use soft top cage brackets and rear seat mounts for tie down points. personally the slide out fitted draws are an expensive waste of space in my opinion but mine was just a quick cheap solution when I first bought the TJ
Boxes are stackable so I can fit 3 if I put one on the rear case.

You can find some compression bags to put all your fluffy pieces in and save a good bit of space. A couple sleeping bags can be compressed to 1/2 their size or even smaller with compression bags. That can clear up a lot of room inside. A roof rack can also help free up interior room. Or even getting a rear platform for your bumper.

I have a compression bag I use for my dirty clothes they do help a lot! And I have a roof rack on order with gobi now. Have a smittybuilt built one on the Jeep now but can’t wait to replace it with the gobi.

Do you have links to the shelves and such? I have a homemade solution that isn't as secure as I'd like. Also, if it gave me the chance to remove my tonneau cover and just have something like this, it'd look a LOT better.

You say this fits under the rear seat? I haven't had my rear seat in in a while but I thought the factory rear seat basically sits on the floor. If it really does thats awesome. I've been wanting to do something for storage back there but didnt want to get in the way of installing the rear seat and I dont really like those between the seat and tailgate boxes.

If it's anything like Tuffy's similar product, it raises the seat a good bit. In Tuffy's case, 5".

I like your shelf idea. It seems like a good use of space if you don't have a rear seat. I used to keep my recovery gear in plastic bins like you described. However, it always took so long rummaging around in the bins for things when I needed them. I'm not sure if you have the same problem but a solution I found was this recovery gear box I found on Amazon:

It really is such a time saver for me. I'm surprised more people in the community don't know about it.

I’d rip it off wheeling.
