What did you do to your TJ today?

So I’ve painted the skid plate and now would like to replace the bolts with Stainless Steel. Are the bolts in the picture Grade 8 of 5 or . . . ? Anyone know where to get replacements?View attachment 257154View attachment 257153
Have you tried Davey Jeeps or Dead Jeeps to see if you can get OEM bolts in better condition that what you have?

After a lot of deliberation I decided to replace my factory stereo with an aftermarket Alpine unit. I did this in hopes it would fix my soundbsr speakers intermittently going out (it did) and to have the ability to enjoy cds again lol. I miss the factory look though.

Replaced the U-Joints on the rear driveshaft. First time taking care of that chore. Was a learning experience. Only took about 2.5 hours. Used Spicer as suggested on the forums.

Had a fun little mishap today. Wasn't paying attention to what happens when the rear driveshaft was disconnected. Didn't chock the wheels. Jeep started rolling while I was under it. I was able to stop it but couldn't get out from under it. Luckily my oldest boy was home from school today and heard me yelling for him. He jumped in and stood on the brake so I could climb out from under the Jeep and chock the wheels. Only 10 years old and already pulling his old man out of trouble.

Since many post show owners enjoying them, here is mine-

And finally make it to the lake -where mom lives-

And all this leads to a quick story-

I have an Uncle that is just unbelievably cool, always has been. Long hair when it was cool, when it wasnt. Practically no dad. He runs wild, grows up, meets a sweet girl, 40 years later, still cool, still long hair, and loved by everyone that knows him.

3 weeks ago, his 14 year old grandson he practically raised, my second cousin, was fatally shot by another cousin, 15 years old. Horsing around with a gun.

It devastated the family, and my Uncle stayed the week with my mom to shop for houses, to move away from seeing where the boy died everyday.

I drove down this evening, felt 20 the entire ride, and got him out in the Jeep driving around his old home town. It was magic....for us both. Doing one of my favorite things with one of my favorite people. He was my hero growing up, and still is.

Tell every child you can never play with guns, take time, I mean no cell phone around time with friends and family, and any time you can, take the Jeep. You will be glad you did.

Life is short.

Installed a new turn signal/fog light switch last night so I can actually use the new fog lights I installed. Also replaced the lights in the A/C Control panel with 4mm LED's so I can see the controls at night.

Those LEDs are truly something.👍

Nice! I installed a marine unit in mine. I'm quite confident it will probably see rain or something at some point lol.

No words, Andy. My condolences.
