What did you do to your TJ today?

Jeep decided not to want to start back up on Friday right as I was leaving work. Looks like the fuel pump decided to die. No pump hum at all. All fuses look good. Picking up a new pump assembly today and will drop tank and replace. Luckily I have less than 1/4 tank lol.

Happy Father's day everyone
Good luck, but my understanding is that fuel pumps typically only fail when the tank is full.

*oops replied before I saw the update. Bummer.

Installed Mopar Air Deflector and got the top and doors off. Plus a little first day of summer wash.

Popped in my Tom woods DC drive shaft and started hooking up the electricals for the air pump. I went with a covered switch to reduce the chance of locking the rear while cruising down the highway. Pinion angle is set at about 3* offset. Pretty fun arm wrestling with the control arms to get the bolts in.

There's not a lot of spare spline on that shaft.... I double checked my measurement and I gave Tom Woods the right number. Anyone think I should be concerned?

If I remember when I ordered mine, I had a choice between a standard length spline or an extended length spline. I'm sure I went extended.

Yeah after dropping the tank, I realized it was almost half a tank. That gauge was way off!!!
Now waiting for new ngk O2 sensors and picking up a new crank positioning sensor tomorrow.

My gosh that's pricey, I wants one !

I ran Gene Berg shifters in my bugs an busses. I love's me a shorty throw shifter.
Right! I’ve been eyeing it for a couple years now. Just took a trip from Michigan to North Carolina and the drive through the West Virginia mountains made me decide it was time. People that have swapped it in say it makes a huge difference.

New no-name soft top in Spice, was a Father's Day gift. Like the look much better than the old black one that was on it. As a bonus, these windows are unscratched, so I can actually see out of them now! 😁

If anyone wants the old Frankenstein setup I was running (Shittybilt soft top with OEM Mopar windows), I'll be listing it for the $75 I paid for just the Mopar windows (which are clear and near perfect). No hardware, but I'll throw in the nearly opaque Smittybilt original windows as well.

That looks really good! Are you just running a glass pack? How does it sound? I have been trying to decide how to improve the sound of my TJ for a while but haven't pulled the trigger. I would like something that sounds a little throatier than my stock muffler, but would rather not wake the neighbors when I leave in the morning . . .
Sorry for such a late reply. Yeah, just the glass pack. Eventually I'll get a real muffler but it works fine for now. It's not too loud at all. Definitely deeper.

Tuesday I had to go rescue my baby from the Cali state line. 600 mile round trip through 117 degree temps. Was driving the bug back from a week event in Chino and the coil slid down in its mount and shorted all the wires and the wiring harness went up in smoke from back to front almost burnt the car to the ground. Lucikly it didn't. CA State Trooper emergency tow an hour and a half closer (still 2.5hrs away) was going to cost $800 to $1000. So my buddy who was following me pulled me 7 miles to the next town where I put it in a hotel parking lot overnight so I could come back home and rent a Uhaul dolly for $45 and drive the jeep back to get it.

Jeep did fine 70+mph with the AC on for the most part. It went through some coolant all of a sudden and got hot for a few min then went back down. So I'll have to check that out soon.

Jeep rolled over 60k miles on this trip :(

Ok. This will be the coolest car thing i will ever see. A TJ towing a vintage VW.

I sold my pristine '67 a few years ago.
