So I'm looking to sell my wrangler. Dark green '04 tj 6 cyl 4spd auto with a rusting/little rotting frame. Engine runs well though. What is an actual fair price for it? I've seen 10k I've seen 2k what is a fair price to list it as.? Thanks

The absolute #1 thing anybody who knows anything will check first is for rot. If you have any, nobody who knows better will buy it for anything other than parts prices. Pics would help, but be prepared for disappointing news.

So, I'm in Mass and am looking for a parts rig and that would be a great donor for mine. If the miles are reasonable on the 4.0 and it runs well, I'd love to take a look at it.
Please PM me if you want to discuss.

If you've read enough threads here about folks that just bought buckets you don't have to adjust the price one bit. Somebody will buy it. Buyer beware really means something, sell it as-is, somebody might learn a good life lesson.

Not everyone knows anything. Most know nothing. Just put it up for $8k and it will be gone the next day or two

I don’t know mileage, but Id guess 140-160k. I’d put it up for $8k and see what happens. Probably disappear in a few days

To the OP, value is fairly subjective-

If you are going for the high end of the price range, get enough to leave town so the buyer can’t find you later.

A rusted TJ is worthless to some, a parts donor to others and a challenge to a few folks as well.

A good answer is get all you ethically can, tell them all you know to tell them about it, and if it is unsafe cover your rear by getting it off your insurance quickly and remove/ transfer the tag.
