My jeep will not move after clutch replacement: Anyone in Louisiana?

So basically the clutch disc is not being sandwiched between the flywheel and the pressure plate. Either the disc cannot be pushed to the flywheel because it's backwards or stuck on the shaft or the pressure plate cannot push it forward with it's spring plate.

Another thing to check-this is from personal experience, I had the same issue after my frame swap, turns out I forgot to hook up the t case linkage, and had bumped the t case into neutral as well. I bled the clutch line 10 times b4 I realized my t case was in neutral, as it drove b4 the swap and I hadn't separated the trans from engine...I was stumped for an entire day!

This sounds like a possibility. Worth a look before tear down again. There have been cases where, in even a new clutch kit, I have received a poorly rebuilt pressure plate. Pedal feel is strong? Jump the neutral safety switch and try starting it in gear. You should be able to move the Jeep forward with just the starter. If not, something is preventing the disc from making contact with the flywheel. Or, tcase in neutral.

My clutch plate is inserted correctly. I started it in first and no jump. I am able to shift into every gear without pressing the clutch pedal in. It is idling higher than normal. It sometimes shakes while running as well. Never did that before. I am able to shift my linkage by hand under the jeep.

Well, the fact that you can shift it into every gear without pressing in the clutch while it's running would seem to suggest the clutch is permanently stuck in a disengaged position, right?

You either have a bad pressure plate or something was installed wrong. Be careful running this thing or you'll burn that disc up and most likely score up the flywheel. What brand clutch kit did you install? LuK?

I don't think there's anyway around it, you've probably got to remove the transmission. The fact that the engine is running and you can shift gear without pressing the clutch in, that basically says that your clutch is permanently disengaged. That would make sense, because you're also not able to disengage the clutch and engage it with the flywheel to move forward.

Something has got to either be installed incorrectly or a faulty part.

Ok so is it smarter to just replace the whole kit to be safe?

It very well may be. I'd probably wait until you take all the parts out though and see if anything is visually damaged.

Luk is indeed the OE clutch setup, so that is the way to go.

So more than likely either my pressure plate is faulty, clutch plate or both?

There's not much that can go wrong with a clutch disc except for the friction plates or the springs, and the spring wouldn't cause your problems. The disc isn't coated in oil so it couldn't grab or anything right?

Highly unlikely the clutch disc is bad. Maybe the wrong one and not thick enough. Definitely sounds like the pressure plate (pp) face is not putting enough pressure on the disc to have it sit against the flywheel. Maybe stuck on the shaft, bad springs, or wrong PP (not the right thickness).

Also, have you checked the tcase engagement? On another thread I was reading about this, they said the Luk kit said not to bust the strap on the the slave cylinder. Maybe not enough pressure to break the strap? Any of this sound familiar?

Currently for some odd reason my 2wd etc light on my dash is not coming on. What strap are you talking about?
