Agreed. Trailers hold value astoundingly well. I don’t think I’ve ever lost money on one.

I would stay away from the Bestop Supertop for the LJ. I bought one last year and the fit is absolutely horrible to the point of being too loose to be usable. I’ve had a warranty case open with them since August for it, but they don’t seem to have any interest in addressing the issues.

No, definitely preload, did you miss the point in the video where you mount the stainless rash guard to the aluminum backer with the bottom outer bolts? That should align the stainless/aluminum holes exactly.

Gotcha, travel and dimensions are the same and I think it’s the only one on the market with 5/8 shafts so probably the new way to go.

The 2000 would have had an EGR valve and I don’t think the 2004 did, but other than that I think you should be fine. I think it’s ICT billet that makes a block off plate for it. If you have emissions where you are at that will complicate things a bit.

It looks like the beloved Factory Race series 980-02-039 and 034 have been discontinued and replaced with the Performance Elite series with a 50% price increase over the Factory series. Anyone have any experience with these new ones? Worth the price increase? Any other viable options out there?

Specs don’t matter. How much uptravel you have and your travel bias matters. A lot of the issue could be too long of shocks and incorrect bumpstop length.

Your shocks seem long for 3.5” of lift. x4, Rs5000X are the opposite end of the spectrum you are looking for and spray paint.
