What experiences have people had recently with the Golen 4.6? The 4.0 in my TJ has been good for 250k miles but its finally showing its age with misfire issues, etc. and I’m considering a stroker to replace it. I am concerned about reliability, but I heard Golen is one of the better options?

I don't know if the later model Jeeps ever came with one, but if you look at the later model year radios for other FCA products, they have a CD and cassette combo that will fit the later TJs as long as the plug at the back is the same! I believe the trucks use the same plug.

That’s a good point, I’ve put a couple thousand miles on it since so I’ll pull the plug and have a look. I guess Im just confused because its really not burning much oil, and I’m assuming if that was causing this the other cylinders wouldn’t look perfect? Tested compression and it seems okay...

I’m burning a little over half quart every 5000 miles? So a little, but I doubt thats enough to cause this. I think I’ll look at that injector.

Replaced the coil rail, no difference. Im thinking I’ll try replacing that injector and seeing if anything changes.
