No Start, No Click, No Dash Lights

I parked my Jeep, came out 20 minutes later, and it was deader than Abe Lincoln. No lights, no clicking, nothing. It was as if the battery was gone. I cleaned the connections at the battery, an it fired up.

    Regret with 35s?

Your axle should be fine with 35,s, but you definitely should go with 4.88 gears, maybe even 5.13. That being said, and since I have 35,s with 4.88, I would stay with 33,s. 35,s are "cool" but even with proper gearing, the Jeep is a stone. In my opinion, the 4.0, although a great motor, just...

    2005 LJ engine upgrade

With that trans. and 35,s, and the front Dana 30, it's not possible to gear it correctly. 5.13 is the limit. You could go with those gears, and go to 33,s.

    What's worse than angry eyes....

Those grills pretty much take the cake, but as far as ridiculous trends, a close second is the phony stick- on Buick holes.

Is it just me, or do these LED headlights just keep getting stranger and stranger?

From what I've seen, the real goofy LED,s usually seem to be paired with an angry birds grill...... especially on JK,s.

    Oil Filter Service Life

Any good oil filter, and 5000 mi. Oil change. I would not run any oil for 25000 miles. The additive package might hold up, but the oil is still getting dirty at the same rate any other oil is.

If you were starting over with a stock Jeep today, what would you do different?

I would stick with 33,s, Super 35 kit w/ Detroit locker, Aussie locker up front, 2.5" OME lift, 1.25 body lift, automatic trans. 5.13 gears.

    Gearing Discrepancy

A lot of these shops work on big v-8 , or diesel pickups with light years more toque than the 4.0 Jeep . They should know they're dealing with a 242 cu.in. motor that needs to wound up tight to do anything.

    The perfect Jeep engine

383 Chevy stroker.... fuel injected. Great torque, horsepower, cheap to maintain.

Going back to stock air intake?

A stock air box with a paper filter will provide better filtration. The other things you have don't help anything performance wise, but I don't know if they hurt anything.

Going back to stock air intake?

I got a stock air box from a 4x4 shop for $30.00, sold the Volant CAI that was on my Jeep when I bought it for $150.00 on Craig's list, and bought beer to celebrate. Absolutely no difference in power or fuel economy going with the stock box with an AC Delco filter, just less dirt getting into...

Forum advice vs shop advice: Are 5.38 gears to low for Dana 44?

It's not a matter of opinion. There's no way 35,s with a.69 overdrive, is turning over 3000 rpm at 70 mph with 5.38 gears, unless maybe the overdrive is turned off.

Forum advice vs shop advice: Are 5.38 gears to low for Dana 44?

5.38, or nothing with your set up. 4.88 will suck, 5.13 not as bad, 5.38 perfect. Keep in mind, when getting your axles re-geared, suck, not as bad, and perfect all cost the same. Find another shop if this guy won't give you what you want, or warranty his work.
