    Bad motor?

Well, first and foremost, I appreciate everyones input and advise. I think that I was successful! The new high volume pump is installed and it is all buttoned up. I primed the pump by filling it from the filter port with an oil can prior to installing the wix filter. Started up, and had 60...

    Bad motor?

Yeah, I have my fingers crossed. Other questions. On the outside of the pan, at the back where it meets the bell housing, there is a rubber, seal, I am guessing that is just for added protection, correct? I rebuilt a ford 289, and I "glued" the gasket to the pan, any reason why this won't...

    Bad motor?

Well, there was one other detail that I forgot to mention. Prior to last week, after starting and driving awhile and shutting it off, if I went to start it again in a few minutes, the pressure was slow to come back up. Getting back to business. I watched the same video about oil pressure...

    Bad motor?

Thanks, I watched the same video. So, the oil pump does and does not sound like the issue, but it is the least expensive fix at the moment, so that is what I am going to try first. Either way sucks. I am trying to be positive. Again, I was suprised at the lack of particulate in the oil and...

    Bad motor?

Regarding the compression test, does the crank case need to be filled with oil? I haven't refilled it since draining it and inspecting the filter.

    Bad motor?

Thanks. I think that I have a compression gauge. Man, I really hope that it is it. I have read so many posts about others with the sender issue, but not many oil pump issues

    Bad motor?

As mentioned, I did strain the oil and diasect the oil filter, and I did not see the metal that I expected to see if the bearings were toast.

    What should the compression be?

If it was the pump, why would it loose pressure?

    Bad motor?

Hello. I have a 2001 Wrangler with a 4.0. It has 112k miles. We purchased it for our son. Last spring it was having cooling issues, and discovered that it had a cracked head. We replaced it, all good. Recently, my son called me to say that it didn't have any oil pressure. Ugh. Reading some...

Jerry , I finally found the time to purchase the parts that you suggested to cure the early morning shifting issues. The trans lines are stainless tubing up to a point, then transition to rubber; did you completely replace the rubber section, or just add in the check valve and hose barb?

Jerry, I had time to try your suggestion of letting my jeep idle in neutral to pump fluid back into the torque converter, it seemed to have worked. There was little to no hesitation starting from a stop. However, I do feel that the shifts are a little mushy; probably due to an error on my...
