    Body plate code anomaly question

I appreciate it! Jeep keeps sending me the same build sheet and signing off by copying & pasting "Unfortunately, due to the age of the vehicle, information is limited; therefore, we are unable to further assist you with your inquiry. General information may be available via the internet." They...

    Body plate code anomaly question

Radio, rear glass, three wheels, surf rack, battery, and catalytic converter stolen, steering column torn apart, door locks broken. Body was fine, nothing else mechanically damaged. ID stickers on doors and door frame destroyed, dashboard VIN plate, body code plate, and license plate stolen.

    Body plate code anomaly question

My experience is that dealerships are not helpful. Police were also not helpful when it was stolen, they tried to blow me off by saying it was likely on a RoRo headed to Africa. Pro tip: hide an Apple Airtag or Tile in your vehicle. If I had, it wouldn't have taken me 5 months to get my Jeep back.

    Body plate code anomaly question

I just joined, I have no idea how to PM someone ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ One thing I'm trying to figure out is the top lines on the body code plate. All I can find is: "There are seven lines of information on the body code plate . Lines 4, 5, 6, and 7 are not used to define service information . Information...

    Body plate code anomaly question

I'm still not understanding why my build sheet would have both DGA and DDG or why the '97 service manual lists DDG and not DGA as a code, but the original poster has DGA on his body plate code. I'm trying to figure out what mine would have said with the information I can find.

    Body plate code anomaly question

So this is incorrect for the '97? https://wranglertjforum.com/attachments/1997-jeep-wrangler-service-manual-pdf.308365/ What is the correct one? I'm trying to recreate my body code plate (and other VIN stickers, vehicle was stolen and recovered 5 months later with most ID striped) and I can't...

What is this I.D. card near front grille?

Hi Charles, it looks like the lines are in reverse order, numbered from bottom to top, so lines 4 through 7 look like they would be the "top" 3 lines. That's what I'm trying to figure out. I used another plate I saw a picture of online as a template to try to recreate my own. I'm including a...

What is this I.D. card near front grille?

Hi Charles, does you friend know how to decode lines 4 through 7? I see in this thread (and from what Jeep has provided me so far) what lines 1 through 3 are, but can't figure out 4 through 7. My reason is that in January 2022, my Jeep was stolen. 5 months later, it turn up in Camden, NJ, a...

What is this I.D. card near front grille?

It looks like maybe mine used to be here and it also looks like it was screwed in from the bottom and could have fallen off at any point in the last 25 years.

What is this I.D. card near front grille?

Was it a sticker or a plate? Mine had a plate between the driver's seat and the door ... before my Jeep was stolen and the thieves tried to de-VIN it.

What is this I.D. card near front grille?

@Rubirob Where exactly is this near the bumper/grill? I've been looking (feeling around) for mine for a while and haven't found it yet.
