    Check your ignition switch. I had one go bad, everything in the jeep would shut off while i was driving. I would turn the key a little bit and everything would come back on. I changed the switch in the column, haven't had a problem since.

    Sounds like the clutch isn't disengaging, I'd check he slave cylinder and the master cylinder for the clutch for leaks and fluid.

    I had a very similar issue, It ended up being the front bearing retainer was broke in half. The front part where the throw out bearing ride on, was spinning with the input shaft, I thought the front bearing was bad. but it wasn't.

    Use non metal anti-seize or moly lubricant, I work for an race engine builder and that is what we use.

    2.5 camshaft problems: Way too much end play

    It won't move that much with the timing chain installed. Look at the inside of the cover, if it was moving that much the cover would be all chewed up. Probably just need a new chain, I'm pretty sure that you can get a double roller timing chain for that engine. Lot better and stronger than stock.
