Ah, you have a different bumper. Without an extension the tire gets hung up on stock bumper. I was able to get it to work with the Teraflex bracket, wheel adapter and the stock carrier, but it sticks out from the tailgate a fair amount.

Do you not run with a spare tire? I'm having trouble getting the JL wheels to fit on the tailgate. I tried the Spartacus tire carrier, but it is way too far away from the tailgate because it requires an adapter to fit the JL wheel. I then tried the Rugged Ridge adapter, and using the 5x5...

Very helpful thread, thank you. I have some JL XR wheels that Inwant to use on my LJ and it sounds like I’ll need these new lug nuts to make it work on the adapter I bought. It doesn’t sound like I’ll be able to use the Mopar locking lugs like I was with the stock wheels, though. Bummer.

The tire is a 285/70R17, so roughly 11.5” wide. Does that mean 1.5” spacer? (Apologies, backspacing and offsets frighten and confuse me)

I believe the 17x8 XR wheels have a 4.4” backspacing (+12 offset).
