    Sucks Getting Old

This is where I am right now. My ankle isn't telling me to get fucked as often as it did in February and March. That tendon, though, is a bastard at 6am and 6pm.

For all of us with two wheels also

I'm still not back on 2 or 3 wheels but I am partially back on 2 feet, at least until my left foot tells me to 'sit the fcuk down, dipshit'. Saturday, I decided to be stupid and went to a bicycle swap meet. They are a thing. I spent a good 2 hours hobbling around on my crutches and socializing...

    Piss & Moan Table

Mrs. Cheesy was the Principals Secretary at an elementary school for 26 years. I constantly heard stories about poor grammar on written requests from teachers. She’d bring Xeroxed copies of the worst ones home for me to read. My oldest daughter has a Masters in Social Science and had to take...

    Piss & Moan Table

Since I've retired, I haven't had to try to read the texts from the younger guys anymore. I'd see those and my heart rate would go up. My knuckles would start hurting as I'd have flashbacks of Mrs. Kuska's 4th grade class. Images of that old broad wielding her wood ruler like a club and cracking...

    The good news thread

Good news with my ankle. The fibula, per the bone doc, has healed 'perfectly'. I can now start putting weight on it while on crutches. That makes those peckers a bit more tolerable. Doing that, I was able to get myself in and out of the pickup with no help. I can get in and out of the LJ, too...

No idea, I didn't think to ask when they were here. I should go some day and see if I can find anyone who knows about the Corvette Skunk Works that was located in East Dundee, IL. We lived there from 1995 to 2019. Some of the guys I worked with grew up in the area in the fifties and sixties...

Owen and his family went to Kentucky over spring break. They paid a visit to the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green. His Mom sent me the picture. I think he enjoyed it.

There was a spark of a fifty year old memory with this statement. It's taken me a bit but it came back. The Auto Shop teacher I had as a senior was a Corvette guy and should have had ASSHOLE tattooed on his forehead. His Foreskin, too, for that matter. Picture this. Rural high school. Farm...

Wondering the same thing, Squatch. I know that Nash built engines under license for Pratt & Whitney and there was a couple languishing in the scrap pile at the Proving Ground 50 years ago.

What other projects are you working on?

Started making the counter-shaft for the 90 year old Craftsman lathe today, on the 90 year old Craftsman lathe. Man, I hope the original counter-shaft and bearings hold together until this is finished.

First, I'd need to find one. Preferably in an icky light green. Then make it look like an unassuming grampa car. So no one would know what hit them.

It was good being a teenager in SW Wisconsin in the early seventies. Somehow I managed back to back study halls my senior year,* and because I wasn't a troublemaker, I was able to bail two hours early during the time I wasn't doing after school sports. Part of the deal was I had to go to the AMC...

This AARP guy hasn't been able to get in or out of a 'Vette since the C4. It's why I went with a Jeep.
