Pulled two power distribution centers out of dead Cherokee's for $40. Going to go for as many single splices as possible while maintaining the wire pattern and gauge.

Good point about the heat under the hood. Historically I would solder and seal with marine grade shrink tubing. Probably still going to go that route.

The green in the picture is where the insulation has failed and the copper wire has been compromised. I have eight wires that need some level of attention. This is what I am thinking for butt connectors. I figure that once repaired the movement issues will be more lateral once the wire is back...

After dealing with an intermittent wiring issue I finally determined which wire was causing the issue. Then, to my surprise, when I went to fix it I discovered half a dozen damaged wires. These are all about 8 inches down from the power distribution center. All have rub marks from the cat gut...

You are showing your age. Go with Molle. I grew up on Alice and loved the switch to Molle. No more hardware poking and rubbing me. Though if you do go to Molle learn how to mount it correctly, not the half-ass way most people mount it. One of many tutorials...
