    P0218, P0740, and P1775 codes on 2006 Wrangler

Update on my issues. In the end, the Torque Converter was definitely slipping so I had the Torque Converter and the Solenoid Pack changed out.... The Torque Converter is definitely engaging now and no more CELs.... All well, thanks for your help, D

Should I avoid a potential TJ purchase because it has a 42RLE?

@Wranglerfix could you weigh in on this? Can modifications be made to the TCM to assure improved shifting particularly as it relates to the lugging experienced while in Overdrive? If it can be modified, is there a reason Chrysler never did it? Thanks, Dave

Should I avoid a potential TJ purchase because it has a 42RLE?

Hi, when I read through these threads, I see alot of lugging issues in Overdrive. I know you can always turn off Overdrive, but shouldnt the transmission downshift to 3rd on its own? Why is it necessary to babysit the transmission? I am wondering if I need a modification to the PCM/TCM to get...

Thanks @declanj23 for your detailed note. Re limp mode, which DTC are you getting that causes the Jeep to go into limp? You changed out the solenoid pack and now you are going to change out the valve body? What is the valve body? Again, I am curious what kind of DTCs you are getting when you...

Hello Dubai, I am not as knowledgeable as others on this forum and yet I have some of the same issues. I consistently get the P0740(and associated P0700) but dont get any of your more serious limping issues. You mentioned that turning off overdrive ends all of the issues? I am interested in...

    P0218, P0740, and P1775 codes on 2006 Wrangler

RE P0740, the Service Manual asks the servicer to determine if the Torque Convertor Clutch(TCC) is engaging. Is there a way to definitively know if the TCC is engaged?

    P0218, P0740, and P1775 codes on 2006 Wrangler

HI #Wranglerfix.....one ongoing issue I have with Jeep is that it seems to lug when in overdrive. I would think it would automatically downshift to 3rd gear when lugging without me needing to turn off the overdrive switch. Possibly my tires are too large at 265/75R15(30.6"). Out of curiosity...
