    Spare in cargo area

I found pics of these from a few years ago. Not sure who it was that made this mount. I thought about doing this and then mounting a single seat on the other side for a third passenger.

    Spare in cargo area

Wanted to follow up since I was able to get some pictures. As stated in my last post this is how I run my spare upright in the tub. The bar with ratchet strap is enough to keep the spare from moving even during hard wheeling but I added the additional strap over the tire attached to the rear...

Has anyone ever seen a rigid, bikini style top?

Has anyone tried those Stuff4Jeeps Hard Bikini tops? They do seem a bit overpriced but would offer no flapping and some protection in light rain. I have a spiderwebshade now but the concept of the hard bikini top from Stuff4Jeeps is interesting.

    Spare in cargo area

I mounted my 33'' spare upright like in this Willys below. I used a 1'' steel square tube bolted in to the hardtop mounting holes in the tub. I then used a 2'' wide ratchet strap to go over the tire and secured it to the rear seat mounting brackets. I ran another 2'' ratchet strap around the...

Max recommended tire size for 5-speed 4.0 Rubicon without re-gearing?

I love how the 33x10.50s perform both on and offroad. Really happy with the slight weight saving as well over the 12.50s. Biggest reason I went with the 10.50s was I did not want to regear to 4.56s but I could not be happier with how well they perform.

Max recommended tire size for 5-speed 4.0 Rubicon without re-gearing?

I run 33x10.50 BFG KO2s with 4.11s / 5 speed and I am pretty happy with the power. I think a lot of that has to do with going with a 10.50 wide tire rather than a 12.50. I ran 31x10.50 BFG KM3s prior to the 33s on the 4.11s and I think the power is about the same. Probably due to the KO2 being a...

Whats the biggest tire size with no lift?

33s with no lift is doable but you’ll want to run different fenders such as MCEs or Metalcloaks to gain some additional clearance. I’m not stock height but close to it. I’ve got the H&R springs which netted around 1” of lift and a .75” spacer to reduce the rake with my front bumper and winch...

2004 Power Steering Pump Pulley Plastic vs Metal

I’ve been having some whining with my steering when turning from a stop or slow speeds. Flushed and replaced the power steering fluid and it’s still there so my next assumption is the pump is starting to fail. My 2004 TJ has a plastic pulley but the Mopar replacement pump and pulley I found on...

    MCE front flat fender install

If MCE still refuses to send the template to you, you could always download and print it from their website and them tape the pieces of paper together to make the template. I do think the template is still available as a PDF on their website unless they have removed it.

What should I bring when driving my TJ from Alaska to Nevada?

I drove my RV flat towing my TJ in August 2021 to move to Virginia from Anchorage. The ALCAN highway was in the worst condition I've experienced (from driving it twice prior in the past). I've been on off-roading trails in smoother and better conditions than the ALCAN. From what I heard COVID...

MCE Fender Install Hood and Grille Gap

The weight reduction and not having to worry as much of damaging my tub if i hit my fender into a tree or rock is what really drew me to the MCE Fenders. My overall build is leaning towards as light as possible by using aluminum underbelly armor, minimal steel bumpers (didn't want to go full...

MCE Fender Install Hood and Grille Gap

I also purchased them second hand so that could account for the need to massage them with the heat gun. I'm really impressed with the flares and how they look and are supposed to function by not cracking upon hitting something. However, There is no way I would shell out $800 for a set when they...

MCE Fender Install Hood and Grille Gap

Finally super satisfied with how the MCE Fender sit and look as well as the even spacing in the hood (or as close to even as it will get!). I probably could have bent the fenders a little more up with a heat gun but its a big improvement with how far they drooped down when I first put them on...

MCE Fender Install Hood and Grille Gap

Finally fixed. Took a bit of tender love with a heat gun but now the flares sit perfectly flat and no more hood gap. Had to adjust the front mounting bracket to get the driver and passenger flare to sit at an even height. Fixed the hood latch issue by buying some locking hood latches to also...

2003-2006 Metra Double Din Bezel fitment

Purchased the 2003-2006 Metra Bezel Kit for my 2004 TJ to install my Sony XAV-AX1000 radio. Transferred all the clips over and the bezel doesn't seem to snap in at all. It clears the radio and the radio is pushed back as far as it will go but the bezel will not snap back in to place with the...
