I ordered two skid plates from UCF about 3 weeks ago. They took my money, order was processed, then radio silence. Phone message says to email, an email has remained unanswered for a week. Anyone have a contact there or know what is going on?

The only people reliably running 33s and bigger with the Dana 35 have the Super Dana 35 kit. That should be your starting point.

The yoke puller: Correct pinion preload and nut torque is being a pain in the rear- preload was too tight, added 10 thou, too loose, took out 5 thou, too tight, added 3 thou, too loose. Somehow I need to find a shim combination that lets me add between 3 and 5 thou. It's pretty tiring...

I've been having some real issues with this pinion gear- first I had to fight to get the inner pinion bearing on, now I really have to fight it to pull the yoke on and off and push the pinion out of the outer pinion bearing. I couldn't get the yoke off without a yoke puller (picture coming soon)...

Sometimes stuff in the clutch assembly like the throwout bearing fails without warning, it happened to me in my '99 XJ with an AX-15 (likely the same transmission as yours). Sounds like a trip to the mechanic is in the cards for you.

I guarantee it's the linkage. It's a very common problem that most people here have experienced, and you've described the symptoms perfectly. If you want to confirm it, disconnect the linkage and tie it up out of harm's way. Manually put the transfer case in 4hi by turning the shift lever on...

He never said it was a Rubicon- and it definitly isn't, as his is a '97 and Rubicons didn't come out until 2002.
