The damage wasn’t caused by the tank. If the tank had ruptured that would be a different story, but it just overflowed. The damage was caused by letting the tank overflow.

Looks like the valve on the left marked, travel and parked either is or was the overflow valve.. Can’t really see where it goes in the picture but it’s definitely the highest point.

I had a small leak around the thermostat housing. When I took the standpipe off, there was a thermostat with a seal around it, but no paper gasket. The seal was made of rubber and fairly worn out. There was no paper gasket, which is why I thought it was leaking, but I don’t think that’s the...

It’s a lot of fun and can be a lot of work, but I enjoy upgrading constantly. I like the fact that no matter where I am, I still feel like I’m in my own place. Have fun.

I know it’s been a while, but wondering how you used a bolt because the threaded piece that goes into the engine block is bigger than the hole in the tensioner. The original part is tapered where the tensioner slides on. Still haven’t found a part number.
