    The Frozen Finger Build

And so it begins... unheated garage, sub-zero Temps outside. Why not start a TJ build... at the start of a Canadian winter? Seeing as the ZJ in the snowbank, that is my back driveway, has too many problems to fix - it will donate its 5.2L and any other parts I can fit on to the TJ (I wish there...

    AX-15 Transmission Shudder

99 4.0 with an AX-15. Got the transmission rebuilt (new synchros gears) but it sat a lot this summer as I've been away. Last weekend, I hopped in for a rip and when I eased out into traffic from a stop sign, it shuddered after I came out of first and into second. I thought I could feel...

    Sway Bar Links

Any preferences on front links? Got one that's a little oval... never purchased a set with lifting the Jeep. Bone stock 99 Sahara. No shortage of options, just wanna hear your preferences Thanks ✌️

    Torx bit set for impacts?

Any suggestions? I've broken a T-40 & T-55 that my Father gave me. Yes, they were Snap-On but were used. Most of the other Snap-On are 30 years old and still kicking but the Torx didn't seem to cut it. What works best in your opinion?

    Uh-oh...brand new clutch

99 4.0L manual Got my AX-15 rebuilt and a new clutch put in. Then she sat for 3 months while I was working up north. Spent the weekend putting the new starter, ignition switch & actuator and Toyota headlight harness in. Fires up quick, got lights & signals... go to back out of the driveway -...

Are there different transmission skid plates for 97-06?

Thank you for your wisdom. I never even thought about... never had one younger than an '02 either. Guess I'll hunt a new-to-me plate down... Again, thank you gentlemen

Are there different transmission skid plates for 97-06?

Sold the acreage - gotta move the Jeeps and parts to the new place... So I pull the Jeep frame out from under its tarp to throw some old Dana 30/35 axles and wheels on it, slap the front hitch receiver on, go to put the transmission skid plate/cross member on and WHAT?!! The rear holes don't...

97 TJ Build Thread: From 'I'm Keeping it Stock' to a 5.9 Magnum swap

Yup. And it's gonna be a fun build too. Got a near rust free frame, a rust free tub, 231J TC, axles and free lift kit. As soon as I move into the new house the build will start. Not too big on the 46re that comes with the 5.2 though... but not sure about other easy, cheap options. Probably...

97 TJ Build Thread: From 'I'm Keeping it Stock' to a 5.9 Magnum swap

Information junkies when it comes to TJs. I'm building one from scratch and my wife is using the donor ZJ for beach and mountain trips with the boy and his friends. Just a 5.2L Magnum but with all the Mopar race guys I know, I should be able to build something that will move and last

    Nova Scotia HI!

Wish the POs of all mine had...often find them barely greased and only surface washed. Frames don't survive Canadian road salt for long without treatment

    Nova Scotia HI!

Welcome to the forum. Got my 99 Sahara from Eastern Quebec and as "well maintained " as the PO tried, that eastern Canada salt can sure kick a TJ in the guts. "Treated", "Coated" or "Rust -proofed" is not a one-time job in Canada. Here in Alberta, the road salt from October to March will kill...

The end? No motor swap pics, regearing?? Cosmetic build to this point. Hope everything is OK with the PO

Is it possible to repair rear seatbelt buckles?

https://www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle/jeep/wrangler-2-door-suv/2003 Not an overly safe vehicle for anyone in the back seat anyway. The seat belt will hold... it's debris or angle of force that decide injury level. Drive safe.
