What did you do to your TJ today?

Go get you so Seam seal at the big box sporting goods store. It’s used to seal the seams of tents, and it works great for soft tops as well. Used it to seal up a stab wound on a buddy’s top after it was cut open by somebody breaking into it. Fairly good sized “V” cut. Barely see it now, but it...

    Waterless car washing

It has wax in it, so as it does take off light dirt very well, you have to buff the wax for shine. I use one microfiber towel to clean the dirt off, and then a additional one to buff the wax left behind.

    Waterless car washing

This works pretty good if you’re in a hurry, but you do need to buff it really good.

    Need opinions, input

Agreed on the horror stories. Until I don’t need to rely on it, and as long as I still can, I’ll change my own oil. And I do it every 2500 miles too. It just makes me feel better. Good luck. I hope it’s nothing more than a unset piston ring, and gets better with time.

    Need opinions, input

If it were mine, I’d start changing the oil about every 2500 miles. If you do it yourself, even better. Then you know the job has been done correctly, and you get to look over everything else while your at it. Not only is it cheap insurance and help your engine live longer, but with the...

    Garage Lighting

Start with painting the ceiling with a highly reflective white if possible. Also the top 6 to 12 inches of the walls, if possible. Those with the typical garage, painting the inside of the garage doors, cabinets, walls where you can, etc. a gloss white is also good. This allows whatever lighting...

Warning tone when key inserted and starter won't actuate

Had a similar issue with a college car that sat for a while. The starter relay was the culprit.

What did you do to your TJ today?

My evap monitor read “not ready”, but no light. So, technically I’m not over this quite yet. Lol

What did you do to your TJ today?

Success, and inspection passed! Have no clue as to what was the issue. Went to go the wife some lunch and while I was in line at the fast food place, the check engine light went out all on its own. Dropped her lunch off and went and got it inspected. Stopped and bought a couple of lottery...

    Having fun with robo callers

Good thing about caller ID, I just answer “Pizza Hut, can you hold please?”, then just hang up on them. I figure if it works for the local Pizza Hut when I call them, then it should work for the spam calls too.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Yep, I knew it was too good to be true, the evap system reset itself overnight and the light came back on. Well it looks like a hunting trip is in store for me today. Oh well, I guess picking up some valentine day crap for the wife will just have to wait. Waiting on her to bring all of my...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Dug into it a little this morning. Found a couple of dry rotted rubber boots, so I put a few small zip ties on them until I can find or make replacements, replaced the gas cap, purge valve, and filled it up with gas. Disconnected the battery for about 15 minutes while swapping the purge valve...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Came out of the house with a “Johnny Dangerously” swagger, going to go get the Jeep inspected today. Fired it up, grabbed my sunglasses, and instantly had thoughts of just driving off into the sunset for no reason other than enjoying the ride. Seatbelt on, glance down to check the gauges and...

    Dog breeds

Recently acquired these two knuckleheads. Currently about 5 1/2 months old, and already weighing 50 lbs apiece with twice the energy of a Energizer Bunny on way too much caffeine. With no more kids at home, the wife an I decided the place was too quiet. We are now way past that thought. They are...
