GrandpaJeepTJ
My name is Aaron and I have my late grandpas Jim’s 04 TJ. I would love to learn more about mods to get the ride back to how a Jeep should ride. I’m unhappy how it drives. Vibration occurs under the frame that sounds like helicopter when going over 50 mph, handles poorly in snow, and feels Like there are no shocks at times and potentially rubbing parts.
I’ve had a mechanic install a 2.5” Rancho lift kit a few years ago. This mechanic did not install any skid plate spacers, appears to have not reinstalled one of the front spring bumpers, and I’m afraid he didn’t install the provided shifter bracket or rear axle bracket, but am unsure.
The wheels and tires on it are not the most appealing, and I’m thinking may contribute to a rougher than I’d like road ride. The wheels and tire specs are below.
Looking for recommendations and help to fix this baby up. I’m pretty handy and can do lots of this on my own, just struggle with diagnostics as I’m not a mechanic. Any help is appreciated, big time!
