GMRS = is there a standard hailing frequency?

When traveling, I monitor 146.520 on 2 meter . I'm also on 40 meters while traveling in the motorhome . 40 meters works well mobile . At home we use 75 meters between 7 and 9 am .

    TJs in beautiful places

We went for a drive in the Ouachita National Forest Thursday . Stopped at one of our favorite spots for a picnic . This is close to the Albert Pike recreational area near Langley Arkansas . We call it Fishtopia due to the amount of small fish living there . You can sit on the rocks and watch them .

    CB radio locations

I removed the passenger airbag . We use magnets for mic holders . The hole around the Ham/GMRS is a little big because it was for an older radio before upgrading to the smaller dual band unit . The Wilson Sleek phone cradles are now obsolete , so I found the Phone Buddies to hold on to our...

    Best handheld GMRS radios?

I have been using the Baofeng uv-82 for several years . Any of the programmable Chinese radios will be a little harder or different to operate than the strictly GMRS radios . But they also have more capabilities that could come in handy . Mine are programmed for Ham , Fire Department , GMRS ...

    Reliable fuel pump brand?

My neighbor runs his own shop and highly recommended Delphi . He has installed thousands over the years and hasn't had problems with them . He doesn't want to have to do a job twice . I'll be putting a new Delphi unit in ours .

    Rookie needed help

We have the 42rle and recently went to 33's and 4.88 gears . The 4.88 gears are wonderful . 55 miles per hour is right at 2000 rpm with the overdrive on . The throttle response and transmission shifting is much better . If you don't want to spend the money for the gear swap , then I would...

Summer Tires vs All Season vs ATs

I've been running Cooper Discover at3's for many years . Rides good , quiet and no hydroplaning . I now run Falken At4w on the Jeep and they are quite , handle well and no hydroplaning . Switched to Falken to get the 255/85r16 . Soon I'll be trying them out in the Arkansas mountains . The Cooper...

    Jeep Re-gear Vibrations

We recently went to 4.88 gears and now have the vibration and noise . I pulled the front driveshaft and it is quiet and smooth . The front shaft is original with at least one worn out u-joint and a little play in the slip joint . I will be ordering new front and rear driveshafts from Tom Woods...

    Alabama sb254

Once again the few are trying to shut down the ability to enjoy our hobby through the political process. They constantly convince the government to shut down public trails and now they are trying to close private parks . If they succeed in Alabama , it will spread to others areas .
