    Abbree AR-8118 GMRS radio

Planning to install one of these in a friend's TJ , He's tired of trying to hear a portable on the trail . I have a Motorola speaker mounted on the rool bar in ours , works great 👍

Never saw one of these before

This picture is what they looked like when we started seeing them for sale at the ATV dealerships . Impressive bare bones little diesel powered 4x4 marketed to hunters and farmers . If it had been street legal , they would have sold a bunch of them . I believe the early ones sold for around...

Who sells the best fan clutch for my 05?

I ran the USMW 22160 for a while , but switched to a Hayden 2771 which does seem to move more air . The Hayden 2771 does make more noise , but it keeps us under 210 on the trail and the air conditioner cold in 102 degree weather . So far I'm happy with it . Along with the Hayden fan cluth the...

    CB Radio Static Concerns

Icom 706mk2 I don't operate hf mobile in the Jeep . I have a Wolf River coil and a 17ft telescoping vertical antenna . In addition , I carry a length of wire to use as an end-fed dipole . Works great for stationary hf comms . I also use the 706 for CB on low power . I ran mobile HF in my pickup...

    CB Radio Static Concerns

Over the past few years I've used the CB in the Coach communicating with truck traffic while traveling. I generally turn it down or off when there is fowl language . Occasionally I talk to one in the Jeep or the truck . In our neck of the woods I still see quite a few pickups with CB antennas .

    CB Radio Static Concerns

In the trail riding community , GMRS has certainly taken over the communication arena . They do work extremely well for clear communication mostly do to the FM modulation . I basically have a mobile command center having vhf/uhf/hf ham radio , GMRS , CB , Cellular phone and HPUE mobile internet .

    CB Radio Static Concerns

If the FM modulation CB radios would have come out before GMRS , there would probably be fewer GMRS users . I haven't talked to anyone on FM on my CB yet to compare , but the ease of purchase and use without a license would be an incentive for that route . Some of the President radios have CTCSS...

    CB Radio Static Concerns

You can try a filter on the power supply line . https://www.rightchannelradios.com/products/noise-filter-for-cb-radio-power-cords There could be a problem within the alternator . Another way to help eliminate noise is a ferrite doughnut on the coax line near the radio , but your problem...

Is OEM still best for radiator?

One year in and the Koyorad is still working fine . Rode some trails in the Arkansas mountains last Tuesday in 102 degree temperatures with the ac on and it ran normal operating temperatures . Drove around town last week in stop and go traffic with a 106 outdoor temperature and the coolant...
