Yes you can run without a rear driveshaft without issue. I’ve had to do this a few times and never ran into any problems.

You’re correct! I was able to find a stock rubicon shaft and it has a single joint on each end. In that case, @Don Bulee you need you need to get the DC installed and get the pinion readjusted afterwards
