98 2.5 barely makes it to 65 MPH

I have not done the weight check. I don’t carry anything in my Jeep so it’s tires, and after market bumper. All the changed parts are listed above.

I always wanted a samurai and I still keep looking. I just don’t find anything stock and most of them were rusted or abused in local projects

98 2.5 barely makes it to 65 MPH

Thank you all for your help. The Jeep was in shop because I thought head gasket leak. There was no head gasket leak, but one hose was leaking causing coolant to disappear. I have receipts with 5.13, never checked if it is 5.13. I don’t think reputable garage will cause issue. The Speedo unit was...

98 2.5 barely makes it to 65 MPH

I got my Jeep back and the ride is bumpy or floaty or wavey. I’m ready to order Rancho 5000x. The shop recommended fox but thats way too expensive. I checked the site and it says 5000x don’t fit 98 TJ. Is there any specific model number I should check?

Thank you. I totally understand and I have been reading a lot. I tried it in TX straight freeway and flat grounds. No way it will even touch 65. what tires did you end up getting?

Manual transmission 5 speed. I will ask the shop to check tuneup. I was thinking it’s tires causing it.

thank you. I did read many articles here about Rancho 5000 and NOT to go with Rancho 7000. I will explore skyjacker. yes I could barely make 65. She starts showing signs around 55 and struggles a lot every mph increase. Runs smooth on 45 mph. it’s in garage because of losing coolant. I found...

Thank you! I didn’t know and I will take off the sticker. :) you are right, rough country lift kit shocks. Currently it’s in shop and I’m looking for changing shocks to Rancho or Bilstein or fox shocks. I have 26 psi and the tooth speedo gear was changed. I agree and I don’t expect it to run...
