Blower motor fan speed selection switch not working

That definitely looks like a really bad retrofit. All pre-'99 TJs came with slider controls, AC or not, so someone tried to do a conversion here. I think there is a thread about converting the slider controls to the rotary knobs, so maybe you can use that to help troubleshoot the issue

Blower motor fan speed selection switch not working

I don't think that not having AC would stop your blower motor from working outright; I think you should go through the troubleshooting process. The wiring diagram should also apply to your AC-less TJ

Blower motor fan speed selection switch not working

Thanks @qslim for explaining out this diagram, seriously helped a ton with troubleshooting. I'm gonna quickly go over how I narrowed it down to the ground. I like it when there is a step-by-step guide to troubleshooting things like this, but I couldn't find one for the blower not working at any...

Blower motor fan speed selection switch not working

When the PO cut the original connector (finding that to be a trend, radio, fog, 3rd brake light etc. connectors were the same way) he grounded the blower motor directly to the battery. I changed it from the battery to a body point, so as of now they are not sharing a ground. When I say that the...

Blower motor fan speed selection switch not working

I fixed the issue, while the blower motor was bad, after buying a new one and testing it, it still didn't turn. Figured that 12v is what it should have so my dad and I poked around with the voltmeter and found that, if you put one lead into the positive wire and one to the negative pole on the...

Blower motor fan speed selection switch not working

Also, with the selector at full speed I was reading about 3-4 volts on the blower motor connectors, is that normal?

    Got my Driver's License Today!

I was able to do the test in my Jeep. I only was hiding a lot of info because I am just really cautious on the internet, never know who is looking. Too short for my Jeep lmao, can jump in just fine though. My dad with the bod always struggles to get in.

Blower motor fan speed selection switch not working

Oh wonderful PO, cut out the original connector for some reason and this is how my blower is connected apparently Jumped it manually, does not work, tried both polarities. Guess i'm heading to autozone to buy a new one. I tried jumping the switch with wires but no cigar.

Blower motor fan speed selection switch not working

Just watched the video, I didn't know it was that difficult to change the resistor on the later models lol. I just changed mine so I don't think it is the issue but I have about 1 or 2 spares that I can try just to be sure. I saw in the beginning he had the actual switch, where can I find that...

Blower motor fan speed selection switch not working

So, about 2 days ago my HVAC cluster went from working perfectly to not having any fan speeds at all. I've had this issue before and I thought that it would kind of just fix itself like last time, but this time around seems to be a little different. 3 days in and no blower. I don't really even...
