What did you do to your TJ today?

Busy Sunday...replaced the dash speakers and installed new ones with dash-pods. Also replaced the sound bar speakers. Then the big propject, I installed a new double din radio. Lots and lots of back and forth getting the alignment of the new radio to fit with the new dash kit. I had to...

What did you do to your TJ today?

This past weekend: Replaced the rear seat belt buckle receivers, one broke and I wanted to replace not repair due to safety. I needed the correct torx size and came to this great forum for the answer, @Jerry Bransford posted it a few years ago. I did not need to hit it with heat, just an...

    Belt noise

Once again this forum comes through. I replaced the tension pulley and the idle pulley as well as the belt (probably didn’t need it as it was in good condition but I figured I might as well while it was all apart). The biggest issue I had was getting how to instructions as the searches kept...

    Belt noise

WD 40 had no impact on the sound. Still the same. It is not constant and it goes away with reviving the engine then will return. or not. I will read through the thread and take some of the advice and report back.

    Belt noise

Newbie here still learning with my 2001 TJ. This noise just started happening. It comes and goes and gets louder and softer. I am guessing this noise is from the belt. How do I diagnose and fix this? Is something loose and just needs adjustment? ignore the lifter knock. I was told to do the...

    Cab Covers: Raingear vs Bestop

Thanks, after looking around I decided to go with this one. It is lower cost but seems to fit the bill even if I decide to take the doors off at some time. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001CF53PY/?tag=wranglerorg-20

What did you do to your TJ today?

Replaced my spider gears. Probably the most involved project I have taken on. It went very smoothly other than not having the correct wrench for the cross pin bolt. I found deterioration on the spider gears when I went in to change the fluid a few months ago. I noticed it on a photo I took after...

Spider gear replacement— What is needed to prepare the axle to move?

I finally got around to doing this project. Weather has been nice and I didn’t want to take the Jeep out of service. Rain all weekend here so I jumped in. The replacement of the spider gears was fairly straightforward and easy. I had to run to Home Depot to get the correct wrench for the cross...

Done, it says it is a fit, I use that function on Amazon all the time but was not sure how much to trust it since they get so specific in the description. Thanks again, ordering now.

Spider gear replacement— What is needed to prepare the axle to move?

Thank you! Last question if you know the answer... will this work with any Dana 35? It mentions "Spider Gear Set for AMC Model 35 Differential with 1.560 Side Gear Bore". I have no idea wha the size of the side gear bore is, I just know I have a Dana 35. Thanks for the help!

Spider gear replacement— What is needed to prepare the axle to move?

Anyone have any input on the question above? Are these the correct gears and why the huge swing in price? Is one brand that much better? Are there brands to stay away from? Thanks!
