    How screwed am I?

Explain? Everything I've looked up has a basic C-Clamp style press being used to push the ujoints into place with their caps inside of the assembly.

    How screwed am I?

Yeah, the shop did that when I took it in to have the mount on the axle repaired and I haven't bothered to correct it yet. Needless to say I've never gone back to them. Since I'm not wheeling it right now due to its myriad issues, just using it as a DD, it hasn't been my top prio. That being...

    How screwed am I?

Awesome. Fingers crossed, I'm gonna go pull it off and see if the vibration goes away. Then maybe look up a replacement.

    How screwed am I?

Yeah, I need it as its my DD. Work hasn't been too keen on the whole telework bit since Covid regulations for the fed got relaxed. Gonna head outside and start pulling it off to see if it stops vibrating. Do I need to worry about t-case fluid with the shaft completely disconnected?

    How screwed am I?

This a shop fix or something I can do in the home garage (minus the press for the u-joint, so socket drive out)?

    How screwed am I?

Hey guys, long time no see. So I was accelerating onto a highway the other day and got this huge vibration throughout the entire Jeep. Limped it over to a repair shop and they said they wouldn't touch it because of the lift kit but that they think a u-joint(s) had finally kicked the bucket...

Troubleshooting my way through a tune-up—need suggestions

I can't seem to quote more than one post at a time so I'll try to hit all the replies at once: Pre-cats: I don't think these have ever been changed. They were loose at one point, allowing the entire pipe to swing, but were tightened down and I've never looked at them again. Currently got about...

Troubleshooting my way through a tune-up—need suggestions

Long time no see. So, long story short, Jeep runs fine at the moment but is getting complete ass for gas mileage. I'm talking like, 80 miles eats up half a tank of gas. So now I'm about to go back under the hood to go through everything and try and give it a tune up. Specs are listed in the...

Any experience / recommendations for knock off LED headlights

I've been running these for about 2 years now. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018JKIUF4/?tag=wranglerorg-20 Knock-off Trucklite headlights. Whatever you buy, make sure you aim them as well as can be done as most of these knock-off companies aren't DOT approved and their wash patterns are...

Is 33s on a stock 2006 TJ with 3.73 gears asking for trouble?

Forgive my french, but how in the F**king hell?! I commute about 13 miles one way for work, OD is off, Cruise Control set at 55, engine RPMs right around 2500. I never stomp the gas, don't really ever take the engine beyond 3000rpm when accelerating, etc.. I'm lucky if I get 11-12mpg.

Best Android GPS software for off-road use that does not need WiFi or cell service?

I installed a 120gb SD card with my phone specifically to support maps for BackCountry Navigator Pro. I've got most of Eastern NC downloaded onto my phone in about 8 different formats depending on what I'm doing that particular day. I haven't figured out how to get the compass to display...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Attempted to fix transmission fluid leak from forward radiator lines. Cut steel lines .5" from crimp connections to rubber lines, flared and installed new rubber hoses with x2 screw clamps. Went to start it up to check for leaks, turns out all of the manipulation and cleaning of components...

Lucky bastard. My 06 Rubicon with not even a qaurter of your rust has been without rear shocks since August of last year because I can't get the damned old upper mounts out.

    Radiator Leak

Had basically the same thing with my jeep. Turn off, coolant boiling out of the radiator into the overflow. Replaced the cap, sprung a leak from the water pump. Ended up replacing the waterpump/thermostat. I just used a basic rotary cleaning tool for the mating surfaces on the block and...
