The tapered section (mounting pin) does not fully push through the hole in the drag link, therefore it does not end up sitting flush against the nut between the washer and mounting pin as in the second photo.

I don't have confidence the threads are strong enough to not strip out before pulling through.

So it's ok to not sit flush? I'd think it should pull through completely and sit flush, otherwise can I be sure it's torqued to spec?
