    Trailer wiring

This is the kit I had purchased for my 2004 and it plugged right in with no issues. https://www.etrailer.com/Custom_Fit_Vehicle_Wiring/Tekonsha/118409.html The connections from this kit are made to both the left- and right-side connectors behind the taillights. There is a wire that joins the...

Ham radio repeater for Jeep talk?

Just getting into ham radio as I just received by Technician license and I've been digging around looking for "Jeep talk" :sneaky: Anyone know of a repeater that's widely available for topics like this? Our club is trying to set up something but just uses the National Simplex when riding...

    Trailer wiring

Thanks. I'm suspicious only because the 7-wire circular adapter doesn't have power to the green wire for the trailers right-side signal and brake light. It seems to me that if it were part of the original install then it would be working. Does anyone know if there was a "trailer package" on...

    Trailer wiring

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but it’s the best discussion I’d found related to my issue. I purchased a 2004 LJ that had the 7-pin trailer adapter built into a mount under the hitch on the left side. I recently tried to use it and found the right side signal and brake light didn’t...

Has anyone found another method for cleaning inside the frame?

I picked up my 2004 wrangler LJ last year end it seems to be pretty low on rust. Despite that, I took an air compressor and stuck it in the frame holes and realized there’s a ton of junk inside the frames. I’ve seen the video on using some chains attached to a drill, but has anyone found...

    Steering stabilizer installation recommendations

I did just try to wrench the nut down to pull it tight against the arm and ended up stripping it out as I was afraid. I'll replace the piece but next time I'll try to compress it in some way. The attached photo shows how far it went before stripping the threads. Fortunately it's not going to...

    Steering stabilizer installation recommendations

The tapered section (mounting pin) does not fully push through the hole in the drag link, therefore it does not end up sitting flush against the nut between the washer and mounting pin as in the second photo.

    Steering stabilizer installation recommendations

I don't have confidence the threads are strong enough to not strip out before pulling through.

    Steering stabilizer installation recommendations

So it's ok to not sit flush? I'd think it should pull through completely and sit flush, otherwise can I be sure it's torqued to spec?

    Steering stabilizer installation recommendations

It was listed as 35ft/lbs on the specification sheet sent with the product, but that doesn't really answer the question, thanks.

    Steering stabilizer installation recommendations

Hey all... just installing the Rancho RS5000 steering stabilizer. The tapered bolt popped out no problems at all using my puller, but the depth on it is too shallow to use it in reverse to press it back in. Does anyone have any recommendations for installation? I was thinking of trying a...

Are these shocks going to be too long?

No sorry for the confusion. I called Rough Country because I wanted to know if their 2.5" lift coil springs also leveled or whether I'd need to get leveling pucks as well. They told me that they both lift and level because they aren't a straight 2.5" lift across both front and rear. They...

Are these shocks going to be too long?

Thanks I had no idea. I was looking at the gas vs hydro and thought the hydro would ride more comfortably. I'll go with the gas instead.

Are these shocks going to be too long?

Thanks, I wasn’t aware of this. Does this mean I need to effectively take everything apart, take the measurement, and then order the shocks? EDIT: I did find this nice article on this site. Also is it worth using a hydro/nitrogen bump stop? They seem to provide a much smoother ride, which is...
